The harvest is great, but the workers are few.
So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest;
ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
Luke 10:2

How many times do we pray for God’s Spirit
to fill us with boldness to witness,
strength to face opposition,
and to stand courageously for Christ?

You should absorb the Acts 1--4 study. (At Bible study). It's not something you pray for if you are not immersing several hundred hours in the apostle's doctrine. Once you are, it is effortless, because several false paradigms are gone and you think only in terms of Messianic reality.

Why do we think we will be able to do any of those things when we are not spending 40 days (ie, about 300 hours) in the passages Christ spent time on, as shown in early Acts?

If you do have that much background (see above), or even if you don't, there is something else to consider that can truly help you, if you feel tongue-tied or otherwise unable to get started. It's reverse psych, so pay close attention: you just ask the person open-ended questions. This can even be 'what is the Gospel?' or 'what is faith?' The point is that you get them to talk for a while until--in the Spirit--something else impresses on you to say. But in the meanwhile they will feel that what they are saying is interesting to you.

I learned something like this as a dealer of long-term care policies, which are huge estate questions. The trainer asked us 'how do you expect to get a person to talk about something so sensetive on such short notice?' Well it was pretty much the same approach: don't think about the big question. Ask them questions about them, about things in their house and truly find out something about them. It was always interesting when they did the correction: 'ok, ok, but I need to know how to get $200K coverage because it is not worth talking about anything smaller...'
