how old was Jesus

Mike if I am not mistaken I believe He was 33 years old when He began His earthly ministry and that lasted for 3 years.

33 could be right. Here is a thought to consider.

How old was Jesus when He was crucified?

We do not know for sure the exact age of Jesus when He was crucified, but He was probably 33 years old. Here is the argument.
Jesus was baptized. But the reason He was baptized was to "fulfill all righteousness," (Matt. 3:15). He had to fulfill the legal requirements for entering into the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4; Heb. 5:8-10; 6:20). Priests offered sacrifice to God on behalf of the people. Jesus became a sacrifice for our sin (1 Pet. 2:24; 2 Cor. 5:21) in His role as priest.
To be consecrated as a priest, Jesus had to be: 1) washed with water - baptism - (Lev. 8:6; Exodus 29:4, Matt. 3:16). 2) Anointed with oil - the Holy Spirit - (Lev. 8:12; Exodus 29:7; Matt. 3:16). Additionally, He may have needed to be 30 years old, Num. 4:3, "from thirty years and upward, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tent of meeting."
Therefore we can conclude that Jesus began His earthly ministry at the age of 30. Since it went on for 3 1/2 years before Jesus was crucified, it is safe to say that He was 33 at the time of His death.

I tend to agree with Boanerges with regard to Jesus age. I'll pull up some substantiation for that and post it.

Just for a quick starter, the calendar used was nearly as flawed as the one we use today, hense the need to throw in a day here and there to balance it out.
Also, some have mistakenly added a "Year Zero".
There was not year "zero".

These and several other errors in dating have created a slight discrepancy over time.

I wrote an essay in which I was able to substantiate the earliest gospel, (Mark) as being recorded within 35 years of Jesus ministry, not the hundred year theory that some have proposed.

As soon as I dig that up on my computer I will post some solid arguments and sources for this.

I just want to say I am in no way dogmatic about His exact age.

You’re only as young as you feel. :D

Since He was in the human form… and He did have to put up with a lot of “stuff”.
Do you think Jesus ever “felt” older than he was?
I know He always did what the Father told Him to do, but do you think that there were some days He just wanted to stay in bed? At least just sleep in for a little while?

These are real questions. I don’t think it matters one way or the other, but I think about things like this once in a while.

:stop: OK, I think I’ll stop now… my brain is starting to hurt a little anyway.

sleeping is not a sin.i love to sleep i learn more in sleep than being awake, only repetative robots when i,m awake.you can,t do this ,rubbish.God gave man dominion.Jesus gave man salvation.laws give man a headache.

While looking into this same subject in 2001, I was surprised to find some historical references and other information that Christ, as a youth, had 'PROBABLY' traveled with his uncle, Joseph, to the family owned tin mines near Glastonbury, England, roughly 20 years before He was crucified.

You can also read a very accurate time line in The Parallel Datings of Christ as found in Appendix 179 in The Companion Bible... just scroll down to # 179 and please read ALL the sections in that appendix chapter...

He was before time and creation but the topic was I believe centered around His earthly body.

This is an interesting topic. Was Jesus crucified in 33 A.D.? Because I have heard people mention that he was actually born around 4 BC instead of 0 AD.
