Mattew 16:23

Mattew 16:23

But Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me, because you are not thinking God's thoughts but human thoughts!"

God bless

That is a very common phrase for me, as it seems that the harder I try to get closer to Christ, Satan rears his ugly self-centered self!

But Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me, because you are not thinking God's thoughts but human thoughts!"

God bless

A good scripture- what the natural man sees as good and right is generally in direct opposition to the will of God.:)

Peter certainly didn't want to see His Lord crucified and was upset at the idea. However, the devil was using him to try to talk Jesus out of His mission--to die for the lost.
