Do we really have a sinful nature?

Or are we just spending out time in the wrong place?

In light of these verses, I have to question this teaching.
2Corinthians 5:16-18
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known The anointed One and His anointing after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in The anointed One and His anointing, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus The anointed One and His anointing, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

I change the word ‘Christ’ to ‘The anointed One and His anointing’ because that’s what the word means. It always comes out to be the anointed one, or His anointing, sometimes both. Christ is not Jesus’ last name, as you know.
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in The anointed One and His anointing Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Ephesians 2:4-9 Young’s Literal Translation
4 and God, being rich in kindness, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even being dead in the trespasses, did make us to live together with the anointed One and His anointing, (by grace ye are having been saved,)
6 and did raise [us] up together, and did seat [us] together in the heavenly [places] in The anointed One and His anointing Jesus,
7 that He might show, in the ages that are coming, the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in The anointed One and His anointing Jesus,
8 for by grace ye are having been saved, through faith, and this not of you -- of God the gift,
9 not of works, that no one may boast;

I was always taught that sin cannot enter heaven, yet if we sit at the right hand of the Father with Jesus. (even positionally) how can we have a sinful nature?
Again. How can I have a sinful nature and be the righteousness of God? I am though. In The anointed One and His anointing.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
20 Now then we are ambassadors for The anointed One and His anointing, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in The anointed One and His anointing's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

I am commanded to be HOLY How can I be holy and have a sinful nature at the same time? Can it be done? Yet I know that if God tells me to do something, it is doable.
1 Peter 1: 14-16
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Again.
How can I be washed from all my sins and still have a sinful nature?
Revelation 1: 4-6
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5 And from Jesus The anointed one and His anointing, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I submit therefore, that if we have a tendency to sin, its because we are not walking where we should be. Or how… Let me show you what I mean.
Romans 8: 1-2
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in The anointed one and His anointing Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in The anointed one and His anointing Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
We are be, live, in the anointing, so that there is no condemnation to us, or in us. We are to walk, live a Spirit led life.

Romans 3: 23-25
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified (rendered righteous) freely by his grace through the redemption that is in The anointed one and His anointing Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Wow! We were all sinners. Got saved. Were made the righteousness of God, in the anointing!
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in The anointed one and His anointing Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
I submit that I do not have a sinful nature because of the law if the Spirit of Life in the anointing of Jesus has set me free of that. It’s a case of one law superseding another.

I’ll stop here. If you want, I’ll write more on the subject.

.

LOL I was wondering that also today. and you already know my position on this. but I will reveal to you now that I am not 100 % sure yet but there is truth in what you say. Especially when you said this:
"I submit therefore, that if we have a tendency to sin, its because we are not walking where we should be. Or how… Let me show you what I mean."
Romans 8:1-2

there is great truth in that.

LOL My friend May I add this?
Sin is not our problem. Why? Because Jesus did away with sin. He took it slapped it silly and rendered it totally helpless against us. Hebrews 9: 25-27 Its is done!!
So what is our problem? Sin consciousness. We concentrate on sin instead of our freedom to live a life of holiness. A life of righteousness in Gods very presence.

You are on to something here big bro :D

This is actually also helping me =)

But an unbeliever remains in his sins.
A believer can sin, I know I sin. But that is answered by Romans 8:1-2. That is, because I am not following fully the Spirit.

HBUY :D

Ya Mon!! Stay in the Light!! Walk in the anointing! Walk in Love. Walk in the Word. Walk in Blessing.
Light, Love, Word, Blessing...Jesus is all of these. Cool hey?

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Footnotes:
 1. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Or be a sin offering
We also have to remember this was Paul speaking to the Corinthians. He says in this verse before : In Christ , God did not hold the world guilty of it's sins.and he gave us this message of peace. So we have been sent to speak for Christ . It is as if God is calling to you through us. ( Corinthians) Christ had no sin , but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could become right with God.

I submit therefore, that if we have a tendency to sin, its because we are not walking where we should be. Or how… Let me show you what I mean.
Romans 8: 1-2

Romans 8

Life Through the Spirit

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Footnotes:
 1. Romans 8:1 Some later manuscripts Jesus, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit,

Paul was trying to prove to the Romans that the law could never guarantee eternal life. He proved again that Jesus Christ could save. So we who are in Christ Jesus are not judged guilty. And through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit brings life and made me free from the law that brings sin and death.God sent his own Son to earth with the same human life that others use for sin. By sending his Son to be an offering for sin, God used a human life to destroy sin.. Now we do not live following our sinful nature , but by following the Spirit.

Those who live following their sinful selves think only about things that their sinful selves want .

But and this is a big BUT.... those who live following the Holy Spirit are thinking about the things the Holy Spirit wants them to do .

Thankyou very much for this study ...Denadi Cho ... God Bless.

Hi Pretty lady
In my King James is says "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." That does not preclude any modern Christian. The key phrase of the verse is omitted by some versions of the bible. That being "To those who walk Not after the flesh but after the Spirit' If one walks by the flesh he/she will have much reason for condemnation in their lives.
Take a literal translation. Mr Young did a word for word translation. He did not bother wit syntax so he sounds like the Star Wars character Yoda. Still, its accurate to within really close.

Basically we are on the same page . and I think the two translations are similar.if you look at mine above.

I don't know about the pretty part .... LOL... but I'll take it ... God Bless.

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Only sin which has been repented of has been washed away! As Christians we are to strive not to sin, but first we are human, and humans most definitely have a sin nature, even after being saved.

How, If we walk in Love, In Christ, can we even be tempted to sin? The devil is not in Love. He cannot even get at us there. Our nature is not to be one of sin but the very nature of God himself. The bible does not even say that we have a sinful nature. It says put on Christ. Put on Love Put on the anointing. Put on the Word. Or to be more succinct Put on this nature. From human nature to god nature.
As to dying, ready? We are totally in control of our time of dying too. If we walk where we are to walk, in Love, we can even choose when, where, and how we die.

The devil is NOT in control of that. He may be in charge for his family but we are not of his family. We are Gods family. We rule. Not the enemy.

from what i understand, our sinful nature comes from our flesh (or physical bodies). in the beginning, sin was introduced to the world through an act of the flesh (eating an apple). if you read romans alone, you will see numerous examples of "sinful flesh" or "sin of the flesh". in romans 8:4, it says "that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit". when we are reborn, our bodies aren't actually changed, but rather our mind and spirit. instead of pursuing the ways of the flesh, we pursue the ways of the spirit. we will still be tempted and tried, but our decision making process is different. this does not mean we will be perfect, but God will mold us into the people he wants us to be if we let him. it takes time, but i know that it works. i can look at my grandparents and other elders in my life that i trust and respect and see an image of what God can do over the course of a lifetime.

don't focus on the fact that we have a sinful nature, but rather that we have the means to beat it. strive to be obedient to God, and every time you stumble, repent and get right back up again. don't get discouraged. read romans 7:16-25. paul didn't have things figured out anymore than we do. the gist of that passage is that he would do the things he didn't want to do and not do the things he wanted to (if that makes any sense). these struggles are "common to man", so don't get discouraged.

:goodpost::goodpost::goodpost:

Amen . Isn't that what satan wants us to do ... remain in our sin . But if we focus on Christ we don't have to accept the lies of the enemy . Go Figure..... Pick yourself up, brush the dust from your feet, repent and He is able to put you back on your road again with even greater expectations and hope for an eternal life. Hallelujah !!!!!

How, If we walk in Love, In Christ, can we even be tempted to sin?
Really quite simple....we are weak humans. As for the devil getting to us, I can guarantee that with Christians, he works triple time, making sure we are confronted with temptations, ever minute of our lives.

There is not a day that goes by that any Christian does not sin, for none of us are perfect. Yes it is our goal to be Christ like, but that goal is not obtainable until we are called home, to spend eternity with God in heaven.

We must continually seek repentance, for we all are sinners.

Sorry, I have not read any of the above. So only in responds to the question. Over the years on occasion I have observed little 2+3 year olds doing purposeful bad things, and I wonder where do they get that from, and why do they wish to delight in doing those things? So I thought, guess there is a little evilness in even the very young.

Hi Redstar

Where do they get it? Where does anyone get temptation to do wrong? Yup Same source. We try to teach our young not to listen to the temptations

Sorry, I was not prompting an answer, I knew the answer. My input was only to state that even in the little ones it can be observed. So we yes, are born in sin.

Yes, we are weak but Christ is stronger .... Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. We can be overcomers with the power of the Blood shed for us .

Yes, we are tempted by satan because why would he want to bother people who he already has . But we are also told that he is under our feet and each time he tries it is harder for him as we resist he will flee from us in the precious name of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for that word." forgiven "
