A question on the birth of Jesus...

It has been quite a while since I have asked a Biblical question, but this was sparked me as an interesting topic to start. :D

I was wondering...you know how it says in Matthew (I think?) that the Holy Spirit came upon Mary and all? I'm not sure if I would use the word "conceived" because then it makes it sound like there was something physical going on there, if ya know what I mean. ;o

It's just that - how did God do that anyways? You don't have to give me an exact answer, I would just like to understand (a little) how Mary had Jesus....

Thanks for all your help!

Hi NG If I may I'll answer with a question. How did God make the world? How did He create all the life on this planet? If God is LIFE Would it be difficult to put a small piece of Himself into Mary to grow into our Jesus?

Well Thats not one question but three. :)

Well it couldn't have been Godly cloning... as cloning would have only produced a female child. My theory is God said "You are pregnant" and it was so.

That's a good answer or questions , Deni ...

NGT.... I think that is a loaded question and somethings we need to accept as God being Almighty and we cannot know the mind of God.:):)

God spoke Jesus into existance, Just like everything else.
It says in the Bible, that there is power in the tongue.
That same power is also available to us.

Though it didn't work for me, I looked at my lightbulb and said "let there be light" and nothing happened :(:p:D

Actually it's just logical that if God can create all that is, He can also make one woman pregnant by the same means. As others say on this post God created all by His Word. Which raises an interesting point. Jesus is the Word.

Made me giggle :):D
Glad i`m not the only nut who talk`s in tongue`s :)

Hi everyone-

When the Holy Spirit came upon Mary and deposited the seed of Christ in her womb, the Holy Spirit placed a spiritual egg cell God created, like the human egg cell, yet spiritually created, not thru physical means.

Therefore, when placed in her womb, it was not connected by an imbilical cord like a normally concieved baby, but kept seperate, while God provided the essentials for it to grow.

If question that, ask yourself this-

1- How could Jesus have been perfect in His life on earth as "God in the flesh", if His Blood had not been kept seperate from man's tainted blood?

2- Had Christ's fetal body while growing in Mary been connected to her by this cord, His Blood would've mixed with hers, as hers flowed into Him, then back out into her. She would've then become perfect like Jesus- (God) because of that.

3- It could likely be, that Jesus' fetal body was connected that way, to the respect of gaining nutrients from Mary's body, by the transfer from her blood to His.

But documentations prove, at 23 days after conception, blood that starts flowing thru a fetal body, is that of the mother's blood. And does this, with the mother's body producing more blood to make up for the extra the baby takes, until the fetal body is grown enough to start producing its own. Then the mother's blood supply is cut off from the baby and only transfer of nutrients continues till birth.

So, the Holy Spirit deposited that spiritually created fertilized egg cell in Mary, form there, it could several ways how Jesus' fetus grew after that.

I suggest its not important, or God would've provided the details if were pertinant to our life in God thru Christ and by the Holy Spirit.

God Bless!!

Soooo . . . one more thing we know about the image of Christ, the way He looks . . . He doesn't have a belly button, which is also not so important. :p Sweets

How did God create Adam? How did God create the Universe. He willed something into existance and it came into existance. The Bible does not even say that Jesus had any genetic relation to Mary. It says He was the product of the Holy Spirit.

  1. Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

  2. Matthew 1:20
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

All Praise The Ancient Of Days

Maybe the story is even similar to Heracles/Hercules... Heracles was the son of the affair Zeus had with the mortal woman Alcmene... maybe God came down and knew Mary... we will never know, and I guess we could spend the time that we are speculating on it, on other things like biblical study or spreading the word... but it is somewhat fun to throw out ideas on how it might have happened.

"Dear friends, although I was eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I found it necessary to write to you and urge you to continue your vigorous defense of the faith that was passed down to the saints once and for all." Jude 1:3

Anyone who does the will of the Father knows wheteher or not what Jesus said is from God.
