The Resurrection: Does It Matter?

READ | Romans 10:8-11 Believing that the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead is essential for Christians. Merely recognizing that He died for our sins is not enough; we must accept His resurrection in order to receive eternal life. Christ paid our debt, but His sacrifice on the cross means nothing if He possesses no power over the grave. In vanquishing evil and death, the Lord made our salvation possible.
Jesus’ resurrection proved He was able to remove sin and its penalty. Assuming Christ remained dead would mean accepting the opposite—that believers are still in sin. And the inevitable end of a sinful life is death. Consequently, a person who denies Christ’s eternal nature looks toward a void future. Bertrand Russell, a famous atheistic philosopher, offered this sad description of such hopelessness: “Brief and powerless is man’s life. On his and all his race, the slow sure doom falls, pitiless and dark.”
Instead of enjoying Christian liberty and anticipating a home in heaven, those who reject resurrection are slaves to the present, with no real hope or meaning in life. Career, family, and good works can offer brief pleasure but not the kind of joy that comes from knowing we are right with the Lord and working in His will.
Resurrection is not a denominational issue or a point for theological debate. Either we believe Christ rose from the dead and ascended to heaven or we do not. If we reject His victory over the grave, we deny ourselves a place in eternity. But if we accept the truth, Paul assures that we will be saved.

Thank God for this season of special focus on the Lord’s sacrifice and glorious Resurrection.

Pray for a harvest of souls as the gospel is preached throughout the world and we celebrate His glorious victory for our redemption.

Fully surrender to Him as you pray, worship and allow His Word to renew your mind. Meditate in His presence and carry it wherever you go.

Ask the Lord to direct you to places of need so that you can be a blessing to others. 2 Cor. 2:14-15

Excellent POST!!!!!!
I say it's excellent because it is very important to have the answers to these questions when defending your faith. If someone ask you, "How do you know that you are saved?" There is no ah, um huh, in the answer. You know that Christ died for your sins and that he rose again on the third day.

Also, especially for the new Christians, it is vital that you read your bible. Get in there and study the word of God. The word of God informs us of his many promises that are ours through prayer. There are also promises to us in heaven. When you don't know who you are in Christ or what you have in Christ, you become enslaved to this world and never realize that the Victory is yours.

Wonderful Post!! thanks for those powerful words.

Amen Gb4m... Those are some very wise words of encouragement for new Christains but for the old ones as well .Prayer cahanges things and is so powerful .:D

Excellent post!

Many false christs have appeared before and after Jesus. Jesus is the only one who rose from the dead. Not only that He is the only one who predicted when He would die, how he would die and how long He would be dead for.

Jesus rose from the dead confirming that He is indeed God, therefore we can count on every promise He made!

If we do not believe Jesus rose from the dead then our faith is a waste of time and competely powerless!

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Certainly we must believe that message that Paul delivered unto the saints of the death, burial and resurrection. That is the Gospel in a nutshell and it is very important we embrace those truths if we are to ever inherit the Kingdom of God.

Galatians 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

"And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are stillin your sins." 1Cor.15:17.

If our blessed Lord had not risen from the dead then he would have remained in the grip of Satan, but he defeated Satan and took the keys of death and hell, and was raised from the dead.

So Christ is the guarantee of the resurrection of all of God's redeemed people.

See you then if never before.

Amen Jeanann....

We serve a risen Saviour . We can say he is risen even if others try to disprove the documentation . We know all the scriptures are true and living ... Why God isn't a man that He should lie and two because Jesus Christ lives in our hearts . We are walking , living testimonies of His goodness and His grace and His love. .

All the other so called prophets or gods are still in their tombs but our God is not there . The tomb is empty . Hallelujah !!!!
