Was it God or Jesus who talked to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden?

Was it God or Jesus who talked to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden?

"Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I Am the First and I Am the Last; . . ." (Isaiah 44:6) " . . . and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ." (1Corinthians 10:4)
So far the evidence is that "the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer", of the first Scripture was the same person as "that spiritual Rock that followed them, . . . Christ. "
Additionally, we read in Revelation 1:11,
" . . . I Am the alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last . . . "
which is also stated in Isaiah 44:6. The first verse of Revelation 1 discloses that Jesus is the subject, the Revelator, and He says that He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.
The most conclusive and unmistakable Scripture comes, again, from Jesus own testimony:
"No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him." (John 1:18)
The answer is that it was the Word, who later became Jesus Christ, that walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. I hope you will continue in the pursuit of God's Truth.

This should be in the Bible studies forum.

Rock that followed them, . . . Christ.

There are 2 Alpha and Omega's mentioned in the Bible. One is Christ, and the other is the Father:

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rev 1:8

Whevever the word Almighty is used, it is always referring to the Father. But yes Univac is correct that in verse 11, it's already Christ.

No one can see the Father, Univac is correct there again. But in the old testament times, there is a way that God communicates w/ people:

And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
Acts 7:30

Moses believed that he was talking to God but in fact, he was talking to an angel. Same case w/ Gideon:

And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.

And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die
Judges 6:23

So it is apparent that whenever people to talk to God during the old times, they were actually talking to angels.

So it is safe to assume that it was the angel representing God that Adam and Eve talked to.

Lord Jesus is the reconciliation and the living word of our Father that all creation came through and is I AM who spoke to Abraham and Moses. No one has seen or heard the Father but the Son.

Jesus said ‘I am’ on seven occasions. Each ‘I am’ is a description Jesus gave of Himself and is recorded in John’s Gospel. The Seven ‘I am’ sayings help us better understand the divinity of Jesus Christ.

1. Bread
“I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger.” John 6:35
2. Light
“I am the light of the world; he who fallows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12
3. Gate
“I am the gate; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9
4. Good Shepherd
“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for His sheep.” John 10:11

5. Resurrection and Life
“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies.” John 11:25
6. Way, Truth, Life
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” John 14:6
7. True vine
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine dresser.” John 15:1

The divinity of Jesus Christ is further illustrated in John 8:58. Jesus said, “Truly, Truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am”, which means that Jesus existed before His human life on earth.

brother in Christ

No worries about the divinity of Christ. The Bible is overflowing w/ them. In Creation, God was actually talking to Christ:

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

And in the entire bible, there's only one person who has the likeness of God:

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high
Heb 1:2-3

So it is crystal clear that the Father was talking to Christ during creation.

What I'm just saying here that when it comes to talking to people in the old testament, they were angels representing God.

Isn't it great to have the Holy Spirit of God convict us through Christ that leads us to all righteousness. It was impossible when the veil was still one piece having works of the law without the conviction of the Holy Spirit which only lead to a dead scared conscience.

what was the garden of eden.?and what was the point of it.?also as we know it was written some time later,is it like most of the old testament.?2 diffrent stories.?also was this our Lord or a story satan made to try to become our lord.when i read the 2nd version i see temptation and gain mentioned.ie trees in the middle and gold near the rivers.also if there was fallen angels there version would be diffrent, and they would say they were the light.?was eden placed at the beginning to stop people choosing Christ at the end.?

Mark 8, Feeding the Four thousand, 7 baskets left over

They began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread. And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart? “HAVING EYES, DO YOU NOT SEE? AND HAVING EARS, DO YOU NOT HEAR? And do you not remember, when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?”

They said to Him, “Twelve.”

“When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said to Him, “Seven.”And He was saying to them, “Do you not yet understand?

And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him. Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around.” Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. And He sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”

"I led them with cords of a man, with bonds of love,
And I became to them as one who lifts the yoke from their jaws;
And I bent down and fed them." Hosea 11:4

But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'" Matthew 4:4

"I am the bread of life." John 6:48

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."" Matthew 11:28-30

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures Luke 24:45

They said to one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?" Luke 24:32

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. I John 5:20

Praise God

For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. II Cor 4:6

So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. II Peter 1:19

that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, Colossians 2:2

until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:3

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; II Peter 1:2

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet savour of the knowledge of Him in every place. II Cor 2:14

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:17

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. Colossians 1:9-12

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you, so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.

I Cor 1:3-10

what was the garden of eden.?and what was the point of it.?
The point of it? Goodness.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
Gen 1:31

also as we know it was written some time later,is it like most of the old testament.?2 diffrent stories.?
No, it's the same story, one is just a summarize version, the other one is the detailed version.

also was this our Lord or a story satan made to try to become our lord.
No doubt the serpent in the Garden of Eden was Satan:

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him
Rev 12:9

The serpent which has become old in the time of Revelation is Satan

also if there was fallen angels there version would be diffrent, and they would say they were the light.?

That would only happen in the end times, when demons would pose as angels of light:

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works
2 Cor 11:14-15

Again that would happen not in the Garden of eden but later in human history:

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew
great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mat 24:22-24

was eden placed at the beginning to stop people choosing Christ at the end.?
No, that's not possible, because Christ was only presented to the world in the end times:

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds
Heb 1:2

No, that's not possible, because Christ was only presented to the world in the end times

if they are fallen angels, and even the demons knew him, this might have happened before.?ie angels left there first home,ie ufo.ie humans that left before there apocolypse.?

if they are fallen angels, and even the demons knew him, this might have happened before.?
Not exactly. Angels only knew him completely when Christ was brought to the world:

And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Heb 1:6

ie angels left there first home,ie ufo.ie humans that left before there apocolypse.?
Yes, on that part I agree. Angels left their first home, but they are are not ufos. Currently they have no permanent address. They are constantly looking for a new home:

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country
Mark 5:8-10

e-den wasn,t heaven,so means Christ was no there.?also satan says has God said not to eat of the tree in the middle,?this could be a fallen angel assuming he is God.?

e-den wasn,t heaven,so means Christ was no there.?
Not exactly. In essence he was there:

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world
Rev 13:8

Symbolically speaking, there was a lamb that was slain since the foundation of the world and that was Christ

also satan says has God said not to eat of the tree in the middle,?this could be a fallen angel assuming he is God.?
That's Satan. The verse is in Revelations:

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
12:9

Satan was the serpent, that deceiveth the whole world and that included Eve in the garden of Eden

When I read the title of this post ,whether it was God or Jesus who spoke to Adam and Eve in the garden, before I read what was said, My first thought was that it had to be God, because the very first verse in Genesis say's, "In the beginning God created the Heaven's and the Earth, and if he created everything including man he would be the one talking to them, but then God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all one God. I believe they were all three in the garden,as one "God".

John Chapter one verses one and two say's "in the beginning was the word, (Jesus) and the word was with God and the word was God. (2) He was in the beginning, with God".

Then Verse 14 say's "And the "word" (Jesus) became flesh, and dwelt among us". Jesus was, and has alway's been, sinse the beginning, "God", and only had his beginning as the "Son" of God when he was born. He
was God in the flesh dwelling among us, and was named Jesus.

I know that in the old testament time God did speak with man. He spoke to Moses from a burning bush, all through the plagues, and all through out the journey in the wilderness he spoke a lot of things to Moses, and even buried Moses. The only one who came close to seeing God was Moses, but God hid him in the Cleft of a rock, and only let him see his back side. Moses face shined so bright after being on the mountain with God that he had to wear a veil over his face.

He spoke many things to Abraham, to leave his country, that he would be the Father of many nations, to send Ishmael and Hagar away and to sacrifice his only son, and he spoke to Noah, telling him to build an Ark, down to the dimensisons of the Ark, and how many animals to take on the ark etc. Then there were also prophets he spoke to.

I don't know that he showed himself to Adam and Eve, the Bible only say's they "heard" the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of the Lord among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him 'Where are you?"

Even Thomas when Jesus told him to put his hand in his side and he showed him his hands, said "My Lord and My God", and Jesus did not correct him.

I guess since God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one God, they were all present at the same time in the garden.

This is just my take on this, but I would love to hear other's thoughts as well

yes but in the first version it says and HE finished his work.this could explain the plural in the first version.the 2nd version doesn,t make any sense.?why would they be naked.?we know satan is called prince of the air.?i can,t get my head around the 2nd version.doesn,t sit right.

if nobody had seen God,how did adam and eve know what God said.?also why make eve from a rib.sounds like a mad scientist.?in the first version God made men and women, and called them adam.so why make another woman.?

the 2nd version doesn,t make any sense.?
It does actually.

why would they be naked.?
Of course they would be naked, Adam was created from the ground and Eve from a bone of Adam.

we know satan is called prince of the air.?
Like I said, the evil spirits have no permanent the address, so even in the air above, they are claiming as their home:

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephe 6:12

if nobody had seen God,how did adam and eve know what God said.?
It was an angel representing God.

also why make eve from a rib.sounds like a mad scientist.?
Hahaha! God is the great scientist but he is not mad. And the reason that Eve was taken from a rib of Adam is to show that the woman was made for Man:

Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1 Cor 11:9

in the first version God made men and women, and called them adam.so why make another woman.?
Like I said, the first version was the summarized version, the 2nd one, the detailed version.

i notice most of your scripture is after Christ,ie new testament, past tense.so the old testament should be what you look too.
