Whine or Worship ????

1 Thessalonians 5:18

18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

What will it be in your life , whine or worship ?

It we take on the spirit of gratitude , which in essence is the backbone of our Christianity . If we are not thankful in all situations , then how can we be an over-comer?

I know it is hard when we are in the midst of a deep problem that overwhelms our life. We have all been there . But over the years ( And I do mean years) , I have found that whining just does not cut it . We are just giving into the pathway that satan would have us on .

But in the midst of our despair if we praise the Lord with a thankful heart – somehow the peace of God comes flooding into yours and my life – That my friend is the working of the Holy Spirit.

Now I have learned in every circumstance “ I can whine “ or “ I can worship “.

If we choose the “ whining’” side what happens ? We end up on a destructive path of bitterness and broken relationships.

I am also thinking of the person who is always “ whining “ Are they pleasant to be around ? I am sorry but I run from those people . They only bring you down mentally and spiritually and are depressing to be around.

So bottom line , let’s change our attitude into an attitude of thankfulness and worship and see what the Lord will do .

Do we want to be a Christian who spreads gratefulness ? I do .

Wow, thanks for posting this!
These past few days, I've just been whining and whining!
Thanks again! This really helped :) :) :)

If we are in the midst of a deep problem that is certainly not the time to whine and beg, since it makes it worse because we are focused on the problem instead of the answer. God already knows every detail so why tell Him about it?

We need to find His scriptures that promises an answer to our problem, and the Lord has the answer to every problem

Philippians 4:6Be careful for nothing;

That means don't worry about anything or be anxious about it.

but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Did it say let the problem by known? No. What is it you want? Thats what we ask. I request the solution that I found in the Word, the answer to the problem. And then thank Him for it.

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Then when we do that we can have the peace of God about it and not be fretful.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Yes that is a beautiful verse and one of my favourites .... Beauty for ashes . If we wait upon the Lord, and we always want instant ,cause we live in a world that needs and wants everything fast ... fast cars , fast internet , well you get the picture but when we wait upon the Lord for the answer it may takes days, years , or a lifetime but it is in His timing not ours . His timing is perfect.

Look at people in the Bible ....Elizabeth in her old age had a baby ... and another example where Serai took matters into her own hands when she knew that God had promised them a baby and she could not wait so she employed Hagar the maidservant ... And what a disaster that turned out to be . When God tells us something .... he keeps His promise .Wait for God's way .
Wait for God to do it His way, in His time. Trying to make it happen just makes it worse.

God alone is in charge of the timing of our lives. He has the authority to set the times and dates of the circumstances of our lives.

Acts 1:7

7He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

Psalm 37:7
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

I remember when I first got saved the Lord answered so many needs even before I asked sometimes, just because I was praising and worshipping alot.

Amen GodSpeaks .... and we tend to forget those sometimes . I know that having a thankful heart is what I strive for and it is ok to say we can do it when everything is going good but what about when they are not . I know that is where I bleww it many times and now when the valleys come I want to be praising and not complaining. Over time I have had to learn that lesson as I made some very bad decisons in my day .

But praise God , He still loves me and pciks me up from the miry clay and sets my feet on the Rock to stay.
