Never give up .

Book of War: The War of Peace Vol 1, Chp 1, Page 4 11/08/2005

By Turning the other cheek and not returning evil for evil, but good for evil, we by effect stand upright like a blade .

And when God attacks the enemy and we do not waver like a reed in the wind.

The spiritual enemy suffice to say will receive more than a papercut:

They will receive a mortal blow rending them asunder .

Resist and the devil will flee .

-Michael Collum

Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite. As one of the three mighty men, he was with David when they taunted the Philistines gathered at Pas Dammim for battle. Then the men of Israel retreated, but he stood his ground and struck down the Philistines till his hand grew tired and froze to the sword. The LORD brought about a great victory that day. The troops returned to Eleazar, but only to strip the dead. (2 Samuel 23:9-11 )

Our battles are battles of the heart . and are not fought with fists or the devices of the world . our battles bring peace . the battles of the old testament that were done in the flesh .. are what we experience with God indwelling us .. in the Spiritual . Surrender to God, ask Him to take over .. and never give up .

I just saw a thing on this the other day.

"Lord I submit myself to you and so I resist the devil and you said because of that he will flee!"

Oh very good . you caught my reference to James . What does the bible say about resisting?

Proverbs 28:4
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.

The basis of the Old covenant was the law of Moses . the basis of this new covenant is Jesus bleeding on the cross, dying for our sins written in the first law and the power of God that has risen Him from the dead . So to resist wickedness . one continues in the grace of God . trusting God . and loving everyone . in other words . keep on keeping on .

Amen!
And yes, I memorized that verse in James, bondman gave me that advice actually, as a way of getting bad thought out of my head, works well too :)

I recall a story ..

I remember how David would play music to get the devils harassing King Saul to go away . King Saul eventually became jealous of David and all his accomplishments and tried to kill him .. but eventually David became king . David who later became King really knew how to resist the evil . most of what he did seemed to be embodying this as a lifestyle .
