Walk This Way

Shallow is the voice of no concern

You can turn around and walk away
Tell yourself there’s nothing here to see.
Try so hard to look the other way.
As if you haven’t noticed anything.

Shallow is the voice of no concern.
Running through the bridges that we’ve burned.
You can’t even feel your own demise.
So how can you pretend to lead the blind?

You do it to the least of these.
You do it to Me.
You gotta take the time.

I’m the Hungry and the Weak.
Can you even see Me?
I’m the Stranger all alone.
Won’t you welcome Me home?
I’m the Naked and the Ashamed.
Won’t you look my way?

You do it to the least of these.
You do it to Me.
You gotta take the time.

Lyrics from MercyMe song entitled “Take the Time”
From their “The Hurt & The Healer” CD

John 15:10
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.”

Matthew 22:37-40
“And he [Jesus] said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

1 Peter 2:21
“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”

1 John 2:6 ESV
“Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”

1 John 3:6 (KJV)
“Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 3:17 (KJV)
“But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”

1 John 3:24 (ESV)
Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.”

1 John 4:17 (ESV)
In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.”

Unmistakably, we are called to LOVE. We are called to LOVE His way. His way is PERFECT LOVE. Unconditional love. LOVE that seeks out the hurt and points them to the Healer. LOVE that can't bear the thought of keeping such a special gift as His Perfect LOVE to themselves.
A LOVE so complete it cancels out sin. Our sin. Their sin. All sin.

Walk in His way and you will abide in Him.

The problem is, as I see it, most in the Church want to bash Catholics who teach works are important, (not works save), and as such they steel their hearts against works, which is all their purpose on earth.

Yeah, I know. Bashing Catholics (and other religions) is a common practice, one in which I have, in the past, taken part in, much to my chagrin. Thankfully, He did not let me sit in my filthy self-righteousness and has taught me to believe and behave otherwise.

So, we see He tells us our purpose involves more than belief.
(Our belief in Him = milk for the baby; Our desire to share our belief in Him via Love as works = meat for the mature)
1. To love the Father as He has loved us.
2. To do His will.

BOTH require action.

Like Rumely said in a previous post, somewhere on this forum, coming to salvation is not for the purpose of getting the "certificate of approval. " Discipleship it is truly more than "saving your own bacon" via knowledge, belief, and trust in His great love. It's much, much more than that.
