Been Alive For 45 Years.........

I've been alive for about 25 years.

But I'm 65 years old. I'm retired and slightly depressed. I like small group meetings. I wish the reformers finished the job. I damaged my knees and lower back during construction work that spanned more than 30 years. Spondylosis is good for me. I was SO proud that I could easily out-perform the other guys. Now I'm kind of broken down. You young guys in construction - slow down a little bit, and don't carry extremely heavy loads.

I like fishing, and archery target practice. I also like shooting for accuracy. I use a break-barrel .177 caliber rifle for that, I have no need for a .308. It shoots a little pellet at 1100 feet per second. That's the speed just outside the barrel.

My testimony is, I was a contractor, commuting six hours each day. The drive became boring. So I slowly turned the tuning knob to find faint stations I wasn't aware of. There were always these three stations that I did not care for. But day after day they became more interesting so I lingered a little longer. Then one day I asked and Jesus just saved me. He personally gave me a glimpse of eternity, told me that He was hidden from my eyes, and to go to this one little church in my town, and wait. I obeyed, and was astonished at what God has planned for all the world.

Welcome to the forums, Simeon!

Just a question....I'm confused as to why you said you've been alive for 25 years, but actually 65 years old. Lol. Can you explain? :) Are you meaning that you've been a CHRISTIAN for 25 years?

I hope I'm signing in correctly.

25 years ago I got saved in my work truck. I was 40 years old. 25 + 40 = 65. Since then I've lived another 25 years. Prior to that I was truly dead. From my teen years I had been a very unhappy and neurotic person. I was an extreme self-condemner. The unrelenting pressure of unbroken sadness and anxiety made me decide to take my own life. I had it all planned. But God Almighty interrupted that. Since then I've lived another 25 years in the safety of the Cleft Rock. My whole world turned upside down. Praise be to Jesus who loves without finding fault.
