You are the Healed. Reason 1
Just thinking today of all the evidence in the Word of God we should resist sickness and disease. Sickness is not part of our inheritance, in Christ Jesus. I came up with many scriptures and many reasons why you and I do not have to be sick and should not tolerate being sick.
It's not enough I found to just tell someone they are the healed, and they best believe scripture or else. We are suppose to help others see it, and hopefully see it more clearly than ourselves so that they may be healed.
Believers are a strange bunch though. You go give them scriptures about healing, and they want to mention Paul's Thorn, Steven getting stoned, Jacobs hip, Jesus healing only the guy on the mat at the pool, Trophy left sick by Paul, God kills and makes alive, the list goes on and I heard all the excuses not to believe that you can be and should be healed.
Oh, God gets glory for me being sick. That is not a scripture though. He got glory for the healing, so best get to believing for the healing so God can get His glory.
It's hard to help people when you give scripture to help and they give 10 that says they are doomed. I got news for you, all those scriptures references above are misquoted and not understood. None point away from your healing and being free, and feeling good.
Once a person gets a foundation though, and root they can start to believe that it's possible that life long disease they have battled can be healed. doctors don't heal anyone. They have tools to help the body aid itself in healing.
Doctors who are unable to get us well, does not determine the will of God.
How many believers determine the will of God because a doctor can't do anything? I heard it from a pastor once concerning his wife. The doctors did all they could do, but she still had those headaches. So he preached that sometimes God wants us to go through things to remove the dross out of our life. A refining fire he called it. He based that on the fact they went to the best doctors and nobody could find out what was wrong with his wife. Pretty stupid I know, but they will allow you to preach despite IQ scores.
I wondered what he would think about God's will if he lived in the 1700's. doctors were not do bright back then and often killed the patient trying to get them well. Getting a common cold could kill you and so it must not be the will of God to heal a cold. I could just imagine the messages preached about God and healing in them days, based on the ability of man.
Another man who wrote a famous book said the same thing about his wife and cancer. He said despite all the prayers, I know it's not God's will to heal my wife.
Doctor failure and prayer failure does not determine the will of God. You will find most are hypocrites who say it's not always God's will to heal. They themselves go to the doctor and do their best to get out of the will of God. If you really believe it's not always the will of God to heal, then stay away from the doctor and stay in God's will. Seriously, common sense goes a long way.
Jesus bore our sickness and disease. Number 1 reason
AMP:
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].(2) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
(Isa 53:4-5)
God's promise in the OT was that you obey and serve him, He would remove all the sickness from you.
And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
(Deu 7:15)
How much of the sickness God said he would remove? All of it. This was a covenant promise and we have a better covenant established on better promises.
Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
If the promises are better, then the removal of sickness would be included. It's not new and improved if the product does not perform as well as the old product. Common sense goes a long way.
Sickness removed but came for disobedience and is part of the curse.
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
(Deu 28:15)
What brought the curse of the Law? disobedience, covenant breakers and flat out not trusting in God. Some would wrap it up and call it sin. Unbelief the scripture calls evil, and Israel was full of it. (Heb 3:12)
Sin, brought sickness and other things. It brought the curse.
The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed. The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
(Deu 28:27-28)
The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
(Deu 28:35)
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
(Deu 28:45)
As you can see, all kinds of sickness. Also note that sickness was never designed to teach us anything or build character. Sickness was designed to do one thing and that was to destroy you and take away your quality of life.
Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
(Deu 28:59-61)
Every form of sickness known to man from the common cold to diabetes came out of the curse of the Law. Mental illness is also included in that package.
Any form of mental illness, sickness or disease does not belong to us.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
(Isa 53:5)
Jesus did much more than bare all the sin of mankind on his body, being made sin. He also took the punishment we deserved for disobedience and unworthiness toward God. He took that punishment so we don't have to have it. Because He paid for our punishment, then we don't have to pay for it when sickness comes.
To say it's the will of God that I am sick, Is to say what caused the sickness must be the will of God. Sickness came from disobedience and breaking the Covenant with God.
If you believe it's the will of God your sick, then you also have to believe it's the will of God that you live in sin.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Jesus our Lord has redeemed us from the curse of the Law. Redeemed is just a word for Purchased and Paid for our punishment and what we deserved from all that came out of the curse. Sickness came out of the curse. Mental illness came out of the curse. Your crops not growing came out of the curse.
Good news, Jesus purchased our way out of that, and took the punishment we deserved.
You and I should resist everything in faith that Jesus paid for. Sickness does not belong to us, and we should stop confessing it over us, and laying around hoping that God might heal us. We need to take a stand, grab some scriptures and not give the devil any breathing room when it comes to things Jesus bought for us.
Jesus said occupy until I come, fight the good fight of faith, scripture says. You and I have a part, and the Lord will always be faithful and do his part. Keep in mind we have an enemy that is seeking to devour us. The devil will steal away what is ours if we just roll over in despair. We resist him steadfast in faith, nothing wavering. We let the devil know he has no right to bring sickness because Jesus has redeemed us from the curse and all the curse brought on mankind.
This is just 1 reason out of many as to why we are the healed and Healing is promised to us.
