What do you consider Gods will? For me it is being in constant communication with Him, worshipping Him with song and prayer, thinking about Him when u fall asleep at night, and reading and meditating on His AWESOME words. These things keep me in His will. I have at certain points in my life become spiritually exhausted trying desperately to make myself good enough for Him. Now I know His will is full humble submission.
Just some thoughts.
Also, regarding Isaiah--- how do the Jews reconcile the prophetic verses? I have googled the "Jewish" translations and the messianic verses we know such as Isaiah 9:6-7 say something a little different and don't call the messiah God---
I don't get it.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
(1Co 3:12-15)
The curse comes:
Deu 28:47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God
with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
When we talk about the "WILL" of God, you can do everything perfect, not steal stuff, Pray To God, Hear God, Have Joy which every believer better keep that Joy, yet.................. Still not be in the Will of God.
If ye be
willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
(Isa 1:19)
Job 36:11 If they
obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Eze 20:40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land,
serve me: there will I accept them, and there will
I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.
Being in the Will of God is serving him and things are required. Obeying is just not hearing him, and staying out of sin. It's also doing and serving.
To serve we have to be in our place, for each person is members of the body. Each member has a different function. If your an ear, and you study to be an eye, build the foundation of an eye, though it be scriptural and good works, they are burned up. An ear can never be as good as an eye, to do the eye job, though years of hard work went into being an eye.
If your an ear, then you need to function and serve as an ear. No amount of effort will every make you a great eye. Each member has a plan and path to follow.
1Co 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
So, you can serve God, stay out of sin, and hear all you want. Not doing though and being in the place called can bring poverty and all kinds of trouble.
When believers tell me about how they struggle year after year, even though they go to church, pray, read their word, it can only be 1 or 2 things.
Job 36:11 If they
obey and serve him,
they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
They are full of unbelief about the blessings of God, or they are not in their place....... could be both.
Not being on the path God has for you can cost you. You can be the most perfect christian but if your not on the path, then your in the dark.
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
(Pro 4:18)
On God's path for your life, things get brighter and brighter. You avoid all those things God never intended you to go through. Off the Path, things get darker and more confusing. Things happen and you just don't understand why.
Pro 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness:
they know not at what they stumble.
One of Davids Darkest days was when He looked out that window and saw Bathsheeba Naked. David was at home in his bunny slippers, having a tea and just happened to look out.
David was not suppose to be home though, he was suppose to be out with his men fighting. He was off the path and not doing what he was suppose to be doing.
And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at
the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah.
But David tarried still at Jerusalem. And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and
the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
(2Sa 11:1-2)
On God's path, we don't run into the temptations and problems others have.
Off God's path we can travel to sicknessville and Poverty land. Places God never intended us to visit.
There is so much more to talk about.........
God has a plan, and a specific path for each of us. Jesus said though, many are called, few are chosen.
blessings.
