Just saying..

The Rich Young Man
23And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.24"Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Continued...

25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Between Jerusalem and bethlehem there is a funny shaped rock that makes an arch. Its on a common path people take during this journey. The name of this rock is "the eye of the needle" thus, all things are possiblethru God because He made the earth.
Furthermore, we should not be looking to money as riches. The bible tells us to not store up treasure on earth where moths and rust do corrupt, but instead store up treasure in heaven. for where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. Luke 12:34, matt 6:21.

That's a great post and I have to admit, i still can't get my head around why these individuals can justify such personal wealth and feel sorry for dying, starving children around the world, just crazy wealth but, they will have to answer to Jesus!!!

Hmmm, 7 of the top 10 richest preachers are black. Why is that? Of the three whites, one is an absolute disgrace. Another is a disgrace. Only Billy Graham (#8) has any of my respect. It looks like shameless exploitation and manipulation is the ticket to the Top Ten, Graham excluded.

Why are all top Ten Ten American or Nigerian?

Doesn't Billy graham support Mormons?

A 1.5 million dollar mansion? That's nothing compared to Joel Osteen's 10.5 million dollar mansion in Houston.

True.
Beyond imagination how any pastor, and the digs and lives of the pastors on that reality show Preachers of LA is ridiculous, could choose to live like that.
Think of the money spent on those homes, properties, etc... Osteen often refers to his wife and her shopping habits. And all the good that money could do for the needy, the desperate to survive to pay their bills folk among the congregation who give what they can to a mega-rich mega-church pastor who has so many parishioners he can't be a pastor to them, as Osteen once said of himself in a sermon.

The IRS was going to investigate certain of the pastors that are known for their exorbitant wealth, but that didn't go far.
During that seeming investigation however, it was discovered that good old Joyce Meyer has a $75,000 commode among her assets as a tax exempt pastor.
Till her I thought a commode was a toilet. Turns out it's what we common working class call a dresser. It was a donation to her, so she claimed.

And my favorite are those pastors with private jets. But this guy is all about excess.
Kenneth Copeland. A "word of faith" pastor. When I talk to people I look them in the eyes. With Copeland I look into his eyes when I happen on him on TV or in a video. I kid you not, when I look in his eyes I see serpent pupils. I've owned an iguana and I now have a snake that is a rescue, so I know what they look like. Same thing. They could all be Copeland cousins.
Copeland's not a millionaire though. Oh, no....he's a billionaire! And he likes to brag about that.

And he has 5 private jets. Good thing his wife Gloria tells us that both she and her husband can control the weather.
Hate to see those planes go into a storm. Might risk somethin.

As to the Time magazine question, no! That man is not the next Billy Graham. Billy Graham is Billy Graham. And T.D. Jakes is someone who denies the trinity.

He's no Billy Graham.

Hello and thanks so much for this. This has been a major eye opener, I know some US / UK Pastors/ministries have some fantastic amounts of wealth but I'm sorry, I cannot imagine God ever approving of what I see above. I've no doubt God gives us gifts and supplies of finance for the Kingdom but how on earth can this be God? We're struggling by trying to raise funds to open a Christian Children's Home in our area which will take us ages (maybe), small change for these guys! Thanks for this, a very shocked Pastor from Scotland!

Whenever I hear the news or catch a glimpse of that "Preachers of LA" show in surfing the cable channels here, I often wonder, would Jesus drive a Bentley? Or wear a Rolex?

I watched Dallas Texas Televangelist John Hagee in a sermon once. He said that if you were a single mother, a veteran, or an old person and you could work , but you didn't work, STARVE!

In another sermon he proceeded to rebuke people who gave their charitable monies in person to those in need.
Don't you give your monies to those in need! Give it to the church, meaning his church, and we'll give it to them! This way they're grateful to the church! And it isn't a matter of pride for giving them cause to be grateful to you. o_O

John Hagee's church prayer line, for those not in the local Dallas exchange, is a long distance toll call.

Many shall call Jesus' name, but he shall say to them, I never knew you.
