7/21 Gov. Perry Deploys Texas National Guard Troops To Border

7-21-2014 - TEXAS STATE CAPITOL - Gov. Rick Perry today directed Texas Adjutant General John Nichols to immediately begin preparations for the deployment of up to 1,000 National Guard troops to the border. These troops will support the Texas Department of Public Safety's (DPS) ongoing law enforcement surge, Operation Strong Safety, which is focused on combating criminal activity in the region resulting from the federal government's failure to adequately secure the border.

If the National Guard troops can't make arrests or detain these criminal aliens, what are they going to do there?

Question is how many are criminals and how many are desperate people trying to escape to a better life.

I'll wager that the latter is the majority over the former.

They could escape to other parts of central and south America and Mexico. Meanwhile, it doesn't matter either or. They're illegally entering this nation. Mexico doesn't tolerate that one bit. We should amend our laws and prosecute them so that we're as diligent as Mexico.
Meanwhile, cut off the foreign aid to those countries that are shuttling these illegals north and my guess is this invasion will stop.

And why are they illegal?

Have you looked at the immigration laws lately.

I doubt most Americans would be able to immigrate as well.

Why are they illegal?
Because they're crossing the border illegally. Without the proper legal paperwork to immigrate legally.

I have no idea what you're saying in the last line of your remarks.

Have you looked at HOW to become a legal immigrant in the US?

Did you know we have quotas and once filled up you cannot get in?

Did you know these quotas are based on where you are coming from?

Did you know Third World areas have a lower amount allowed in than First World?

Did you know that the system to get registered for immigration is so complex that people that have little or no education cannot complete the process?

Did you know that to hire an immigration attorney it is VERY expensive?

Did you know that if you do not have a sponsor it makes it much much harder?

Did you know depending on the job you want you may be allowed or denied?

Did you know that FEW of our ancestors could immigrate under these current circumstances? That would mean you and I an the vast majority of us would NOT be here.

Do you THINK that is something as Christians we should seek to change in our government?

And if not, WHY?

A strong, sovereign nation must enforce the rule of law. God gave us government to aid and protect the people, even though I'm not a proponent of 'big government', I respect those in authority. Any nation that cannot secure or protect its borders will weaken and die - just look at the history of the Roman Empire..;)

My guess would be as a deterrent and for reconnaissance purposes..

They failed not because their borders collapsed.

They failed because there were few that considered themselves Romans.

In other words, Rome did not make laws that enforced a Roman identity.

This is why the REST of the world has made legislation that states who you are as a citizen, what language is official and a national identity.

The US has not.

So I'll ask you. As a Christian should we keep or amend the immigration laws?

My guess would be as a deterrent and for reconnaissance purposes..
Quite possibly. But if border patrols, when those patrols have witnessed the Mexican border guards waving illegals across so they can illegally enter the U.S. via California, and a wall aren't a deterrent now, this is just a show of force for no good purpose.

There should be a show of force that arrests and detains and transports south those captured illegals.

And during that time they get shelter, food and medical care at the expense of the taxpayer with no reimbursement from the illegal. Then they get sent back at a cost and then they return. And the whole process starts again.

Whereas IF we were to have the same laws we had when OUR ancestors came, they would stay, work, pay taxes, contribute to the economy by being a consumer and defend their new homeland out of thanks for the charity it showed them.

So what is the profit from the route that isolationists want to take?
