They cast the Truth to the ground and practice and prosper....

MANY are preaching for money. MANY are “corrupting”…that is, peddling…retailing….the Word of God when we are not to make the Father’s house a house of merchandise. The outside world readily sees this going on inside the churches and is blaspheming the gospel and the name of the Lord. The Word of the Lord is to have “free course” and be GLORIFIED by all even as it is by us. Yet, many will not want to hear it within the churches as the Word of God spoken in sincerity is the “savor of death unto death” to those who want to continue buying and selling in the temple.

2 Corinthians 2:15-17 KJV
(15) For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
(16) To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
(17) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Paul has showed the overseers of the churches ALL things: how that laboring with our own hands to support our own selves will “support the weak”. The “weak” = the weak minds of the outside world who see men inside the churches preaching for money and blaspheme the Word. Paul worked as a tent maker to support himself and not as a paid preacher so that the gospel would have free course.

Acts 20:32-35 KJV
(32) And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
(33) I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
(34) Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities,
and to them that were with me.
(35) I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

The true apostles did not eat ANY man’s bread for nothing but instead worked with their own hands night and day so that they would not be chargeable to anyone. We are to follow after their example of working with our own hands and not preach for money…being supported by our congregations. Yet, there are those who will continue to walk “disorderly” against the commandment to work with our own hands to support our own needs so that the Word of the Lord should be glorified. They will hear the Word of Truth and disregard it.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-12 KJV
(7) For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
(8) Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
(9) Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
(10) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
(11) For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
(12) Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

All but one disciple did not eat any man’s bread for nothing as we see in Judas who received the “sop” from the Lord and went quickly out.

John 13:26-32 KJV
(26) Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

His feet did quickly run to evil, and did hasten to shed innocent blood….

(27) And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
(28) Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.

Many have followed after Judas in his ways. They have the “bag”…which is the Greek word “glossokomon” which is comprised of the words “glosso” for “tongue” and “kosmos” for “world”. They have the “tongue of the world” in their control. Yet, the thief does not care for what is put in the mouths of the world (the “bag”) as the world blasphemes the Word of the Lord because of the prevalent money preaching that they see. They “bear” what is put in it….the blaspheming…as they don’t care for the “poor” of the world. We must renounce the hidden things of dishonesty so that the world glorifies the gospel.

(29) For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
(30) He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

If any man continues to walk “disorderly” by continuing to preach for money, we must separate from their company so that God is glorified in the Son of man.

(31) Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
(32) If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

The thief does not care what the outside world says for they bear with what they have to say about all of their money preaching.

John 12:6 KJV
(6) This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

We are called to be reconciled back to God and renounce the hidden things of dishonesty…not walking in craftiness nor handling the Word of God deceitfully. We must immediately drop our evil nets and follow after Him as the disciples did.

2 Corinthians 4:1-5 KJV
(1) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
(2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

The good news is hid to those who are perishing in their money preaching. They can NOT understand the Scriptures because of the preaching after money. Covetousness should not be once named among us as becoming saints. If the gospel is hidden from the eyes of our understanding, then it is most certainly hid from the world’s.

(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The Light is not being made manifest in this dark world because the life of Jesus is not being made manifest in the flesh of those who are preaching themselves and in the flesh of their followers. We are to be His servants....freely giving the Word as we have received.

(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
(6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

If we keep the “daily” sacrifice (bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus), then the life also of Jesus will be made MANIFEST in our mortal bodies….our mortal flesh.

(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
(12) So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

A “multitude” has followed in the way of Judas in order to remove the “daily” sacrifice of Jesus out of our lives so that His life will not appear in our mortal flesh. They have come with a “kiss”…the flattering lips of men who give admiration to persons for the sake of profit. They lead MANY down the wide path to the destruction of the mortal flesh as the life of Jesus (the Son of man) is not being made manifest.

Luke 22:46-48 KJV
(46) And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
(47) And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
(48) But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

We must hear His voice and RISE UP from our “sleep” for the Son of man (the life of Jesus being made manifest in our mortal flesh in the here and now) is being betrayed into the “hands” of sinners. They come with flattering lips to lead us astray from the keeping of the daily sacrifice. They lead us astray from the keeping of the commandment to have love for one another.

Mark 14:41-46 KJV
(41) And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
(42) Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

They come with their “swords”….the tongue is as a sword….and “staves”….as they are rulers and not servants of our Lord Jesus. They preach themselves and are not being servants of our Lord.

(43) And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

They come preaching “peace” when there is no peace.

(44) And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

They come seeking us out and flatter us with their lips and they take away the “daily” sacrifice out of our lives so that the life of Jesus never manifests in our mortal bodies because we are being led astray to our deaths.

(45) And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.
(46) And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

They come to take His life from appearing in our mortal flesh with “subtlety”….deceit….as they handle the Word of God deceitfully for unjust gain. Guile is found in their mouths as they preach in craftiness. We have been children being tossed to and fro carried about with every wind of doctrine (the 4 winds), by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

Matthew 26:3-4 KJV
(3) Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
(4) And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

If we do not keep His commandments, then we are easily led astray by the "strange woman" which flatters us with her words. The "strange woman" is the tongue that deceitfully preaches what is in the hidden man of the heart. Many have been led astray by many strange doctrines of men who lead us astray unto the grave.

Proverbs 7:1-15 KJV
(1) My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
(2) Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
(3) Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
(4) Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
(5) That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
(6) For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
(7) And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
(8) Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
(9) In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
(10) And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
(11) (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
(12) Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

They come with flattering words to deceive the hearts of the simple. They come with a "kiss" and speak peace.

(13) So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

(14) I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
(15) Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

Yet, MANY do not know that the life of Jesus is being prevented from being made manifest in their mortal flesh in the here and now because of their preaching. With the flattering of their lips ( the kiss of death), they are led down the pathway to the grave.

Proverbs 7:21-27 KJV
(21) With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
(22) He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
(23) Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
(24) Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
(25) Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
(26) For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
(27) Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

But this has been their “hour”…the power of darkness.

Luke 22:52-53 KJV
(52) Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
(53) When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

The “little horn” is their “little power”….that “hour of power”….the power of darkness to prevent us from knowing the Truth as they cast the Truth down to the ground and practice and prosper.

Daniel 8:9-12 KJV
(9) And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
(10) And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

They come with a “kiss”…the flattering lips….to take the “daily” sacrifice out of our lives and so the place of His sanctuary is cast down. Our mortal bodies are the temple of God’s spirit that decays away to the grave as they come to take the Prince of Life from being made manifest in our mortal flesh as they preach their covenant with death and their agreement with the grave….and all for money’s sake.

(11) Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

A multitude….a host…has followed after Judas and have come to take the “daily” sacrifice out of lives so as to lead us astray unto the destruction of the mortal body…..the place of His sanctuary which is cast down by them. They cast down the Truth to the ground.

(12) And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

The Truth is that Jesus IS ALIVE NOW and not dead. They are preaching we have to die first when Jesus WAS DEAD and IS ALIVE NOW and so we are to have His life NOW….in the here and now.

The “little horn”….the power of darkness has come to cast down the Truth to the ground. The “host” comes to take away the daily sacrifice out of our lives and casts the Truth down to the ground. Judas and the multitude “went backward and fell to the ground” when Jesus said unto them “I AM”.

John 18:3-8 KJV
(3) Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
(4) Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

Jesus said “I AM” (the word “he” was inserted in the KJV translation). He EXISTS…He IS ALIVE NOW and NOT DEAD. If Jesus already tasted death for us (as HE WAS DEAD), then we are to have His life NOW without dying first.

(5) They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

What is going on here is that Judas and the multitude that currently stands with him is taking the Truth that Jesus IS ALIVE NOW (“I am”) and is casting it down to the ground for their listeners as they preach we have to “die and go to heaven” when the life of Jesus is presently available for us NOW.

(6) As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
(7) Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth
.

If they truly seek Him, they would preach the Truth to us and let us go our way to have “eternal life” now.

(8) Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

The Truth is being cast down to the ground by those who come in the way of Judas with the flattering lips and lead us astray unto the destruction of the mortal flesh as the life of Jesus is not being made manifest in our mortal bodies. They are taking the “I am” of Jesus…that His living and WAS DEAD…and are casting it down to the ground for their listeners and followers. But Jesus is ALIVE “for evermore” and has the keys to let us out of the grave and death….NOW…for His IS ALIVE NOW. "AMEN" = the TRUTH.

Revelation 1:18 KJV
(18) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Why seek the Living among the “dead”….in the hands of sinful men who preach that we have to die first thereby casting the Truth to the ground that Jesus IS ALIVE NOW and so we are to have His life now in our mortal bodies? He is not there in their company…in their teachings…in their commandments…but IS RISEN. Let us REMEMBER HIS WORDS.

Luke 24:5-8 KJV
(5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
(6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
(7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
(8) And they remembered his words,

We must "ARISE" from our sleep and depart from those who are living in error. The Father has given us a commandment: ARISE, LET US GO HENCE. We must depart from Babylon.

John 14:29-31 KJV
(29) And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
(30) Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
(31) But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

to be continued...

Those who preach their covenant with death and their agreement with the grave are denying that the Jesus IS COME in the flesh…..our mortal flesh as His life is to be made manifest by the keeping of the “daily” sacrifice of our Lord. They are casting the Truth to the ground that He IS ALIVE now and NOT DEAD and we are to have His life NOW and not after we “die and go to heaven” . Let us not be led astray by those who preach for money who say “come, let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die”. We must not keep company with them in their idolatry. We must come out from among them and be separate and touch not the unclean thing: covetousness.

His body…His church…has been laid in the grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death. “Death” in is PLURAL (deaths) in the Hebrew. Jesus did not do violence to any one and neither was deceit found in His mouth…yet many do not follow after Him as they lead many astray with those things so that the life of Jesus is not being made manifest in the mortal bodies of their many followers.

Isaiah 53:
(9) And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death(s); because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

They have made the grave secure in their followers and they have rolled the great stone of the handwriting of ordinances that are against us, which are contrary to us. They keep us in the graves of religious-sounding men with the doctrines and commandments of men….which are their powers and principalities that keep us there.

Matthew 27:
(59) And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
(60) And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
(61) And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
(62) Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

They do not want His disciples to come along and preach that HE IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD….as people will depart from their denominations of men. His disciples come to preach His life IS NOW and not after we “die and go to heaven”. They do not want to hear it and do not want His disciples to come along and “steal” their congregations from them.

If He IS RISEN, then why are they preaching their covenant with death and their agreement with the grave? Because that is where the money is. Death is not a friend but an enemy that is overcome in Christ Jesus who WAS DEAD and IS ALIVE so that we may have life NOW and have it more abundantly. The thief only comes to steal, kill and destroy.

(63) Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
(64) Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
(65) Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
(66) So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

Let no man beguile you of your reward. The doctrines and commandments of men keep many in the "graves" of religious-sounding men. Let no man judge you with the shadow of things.

Colossians 2:
(8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

We are to hear what the Spirit is saying and not harden our hearts against what is being said.

Proverbs 28:
(14) Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
(15) As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor peop
le.

The “prince” that lacks understanding is also a great oppressor….for the life of Jesus is not being manifest in the mortal bodies of their followers as they preach after the hidden covetousness in their hearts. MANY are retailing the Word of God and are not preaching it freely. They can NOT understand the Scriptures because of their covetousness. They are in DARKNESS where the power of darkness does not let them understand and turn and be healed.

(16) The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

The money being collected from preaching is “blood money” for the life of Jesus is not being made manifest in their followers.

(17) A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

This is why Paul said that he was pure from the blood of all men for he did not shun to declare unto us all of the counsel of God. The overseers of the church of God are supposed to feed the flock and not feed themselves by preaching for money. Paul did not covet after anyone’s “silver, gold or apparel” but worked with his own hands to support his own necessities so that the Word of God would have free course and be glorified. He was pure from the blood of all men.

Acts 20:
(26) Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
(27) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
(28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(29) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
(30) Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
(31) Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
(32) And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

(33) I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
(34) Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
(35) I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Those who are truly SENT (the meaning of “apostle”) are sent out to preach the Word WITHOUT “purse, nor scrip, nor shoes” and are instructed not to “salute no man by the way”. The “purse nor scrip” are those things in which money is received and stored. The true apostle does not go out to receive money…nor will he have a product to sell to the poor (the “shoes”). He does not go out to flatter men with good words and fair speeches in order to get gain (saluting men by the way). This is not a time for the receiving of money and things. This is not a time to build grand church buildings and great ministries to make a name for ourselves. No, this is a time to be a SERVANT of our Lord Jesus Christ and not to preach ourselves.

Luke 10:
(2) Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
(3) Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
(4) Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
(5) And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

Those “chiefest apostles” preach for money. They love to be first among their congregations as they seek after payment for their services.

2 Corinthians 11:
(5) For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
(6) But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Yet, those who will preach the gospel of God freely will get disesteemed for doing so.

(7) Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freel
y?

It is no wonder that false apostles are called “deceitful workers” by Paul as they transform themselves into the apostles (SENT) of Christ. They come saying that they are SENT by Him yet they forget the directive to not come with “purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way”.

(13) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
(14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
(15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
(16) I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.
(17) That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.
(18) Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also
.

Yet, the people love it so as they receive those who will come in their own name (their own authority). They put up with them gladly as they let men bring them into the bondage of their denominations. They let men exalt themselves over them. They want a king over them….but it is only for the destruction of their flesh as they are led astray by them.

(19) For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.
(20) For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

BUT, when we “awake” to the fact that we are being taken advantage by those who come to remove the “daily” sacrifice out of our lives so that the life of Jesus is not being made manifest in our mortal flesh, we are to remember to always do well….even in the face of the enemies of the cross.

We are not to single any one out for a personal attack as Peter did by name when he cut the ear off of “Malchus”….which means “king”. We are not to use our tongues as swords to speak evil of those who are currently “kings” over the churches and are not the servants of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not to render evil toward them.

John 18:
(10) Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
(11) Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

This is the problem with the church of Ephesus who did try them which say they are “apostles”….SENT of Christ…but are not. False apostles will not cease from their money preaching as they will continue to ignore the commandment that they work with their own hands to support their own necessities.

Revelation 2:
(1) Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
(2) I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
(3) And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

We are to remember to love all and follow peace with all men….even the false apostles.

(4) Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

We are to remember and change our minds and do the “first works” so that we may be effective in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. If we make personal attacks against another, then who will listen to us? If we have all knowledge and understand all mysteries but have NOT LOVE, then we are nothing. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not LOVE, I am nothing.

No one will listen as the Lord will remove our candlestick out of his place. No one shall hear and understand our words as our witness shall be removed in the ears of others if we personally attack others….the false apostles who are tried and found to be liars.

(5) Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
(6) But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

He that will overcome will He give to eat of the tree of life. We shall not be barren nor UNFRUITFUL in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(7) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God
.

We must speak His knowledge in love at all times: And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He will give to us to eat of the tree of life when we “strive lawfully”. We shall be able to win souls for Him as we then become fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as we keep His commandment to have love for one another….even false apostles.

Proverbs 11:
(30) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
(31) Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

We shall be FRUITFUL with His knowledge if we do the “first works”.

2 Peter 1:
(1) Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
(2) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
(3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

If we DO these “first works”: adding to your faith virtue and to virtue knowledge and to knowledge temperance and to temperance patience and to patience godliness and to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness LOVE, then we shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. He shall give to us to eat of the tree of life for we shall be able to win souls for Him if we do these things.

(5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
(6) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
(7) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
(8) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(9) But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

If we do these things we shall never fall. The church of Ephesus had fallen and were called to remember and repent and do these first works so that they may be FRUITFUL in His knowledge.

(10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
(11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

(1) Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

Are you talking about people who believe God's word?
Deut 8:18
“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

Deut 28:8
“The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”

If we put God first He will bless us.

John 15:7

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

I'm not saying God will instantly put money in your wallet, but if we honor Him in what we do He will bless us in return. The Apostles had no material possessions because they travelled and were preaching the Gospel. If God rewards someone with wealth then that person has more to give to the needy.

Hi LanceA,

Thanks for reading!

To be sure, God does bless us so that we may be rich in good works and not to hoard. We are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and be CONTENT with our necessities. Anything above that (that He gives us) we are to do good with.

2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV
(8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

The prosperity seekers have got their priorities completely wrong as they forget the “be CONTENT” side of the equation.

1 Timothy 6:6-11 KJV
(6) But godliness with contentment is great gain.
(7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

Having food and clothing we are to be CONTENT with. The prosperity gospel preachers are forgetting CONTENTMENT as they are not content as they obviously covet after money and have erred from the faith and pierce themselves through with many sorrows.

(8) And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
(9) But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
(10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

We are to FLEE the love of money which is the root of all evil and seek His kingdom and His righteousness first.

(11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

We are to lay hold to “eternal life”….NOW….where unto we are called. The LIFE of Jesus and the MORTAL BODY are more important than what the world seeks after.

(12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
(13) I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
(14) That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
(15) Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
(16) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Anything above His supply of our food and raiment we are to DO GOOD with so that we may be rich in good works…..ready to distribute, willing to communicate. God gives us richly ALL things to enjoy…..to do good works with so that we may have enjoyment in giving.

(17) Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
(18) That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
(19) Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

If we lay up for ourselves treasures upon the earth, thieves will break through and steal. If we love money, then the false prophets will certainly break in and steal His life out of our lives. We shall be led astray by them. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy us (as they will remove the life of Jesus from appearing in our mortal flesh) and we are easily led astray if we love money.

Matthew 6:19-21 KJV
(19) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
(20) But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
(21) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also
.

We must not keep company with those who are called “brothers”….who say they are “believers” in Christ…and yet are covetous (idolaters). They preach for money…. “give, give”… serving their “belly” and are not serving our Lord Jesus Christ as they have forgotten His words that it is more blessed to give than receive.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 KJV
(9) I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
(10) Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
(11) But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
(12) For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
(13) But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

We are to keep the “feast”….keeping company together as believers…without a man trying to extract money from us…a “busybody” who is not working at all. They are not working with their own hands to support their own needs. We must have our own outside jobs and not come to the “feast” as brothers and sisters in Christ to work and extract money from our congregations. Preaching things for “filthy lucre’s sake” should not be found among us. Covetousness should not be found among us as becoming saints.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 KJV
(7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
(8) Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

We are to put away from among ourselves those wicked persons….. “that soul should be cut off from Israel”. We are to keep company together (the “feast”) with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth….and not the fraudulent preaching for money as MANY are doing as they retail the Word of God for unjust gain. The “abomination of desolation”….covetousness…should not be found among us as becoming saints.

Exodus 12:14-16 KJV
(14) And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
(15) Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

There should be NO MANNER OF WORK being done in our churches. We must work for our own necessities at our own jobs outside of our “feasts” together. A man could be CEO of Tentmakers, Inc. (just for an example) outside of the church, but inside the church is a true servant of our Lord Jesus as he will not come to deceive with flattering words and receive unjust gain. He does not make a gain out of his fellow brothers by preaching for “filthy lucre’s sake”. We must be honest with one another and not take advantage of others by deceptive preaching.

(16) And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

We have those among us in our churches who “feast with us” having eyes full of adultery and that can not cease from sin as they beguile unstable souls and have hearts exercised with covetous practices.

2 Peter 2:13-15 KJV
(13) And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
(14) Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

They love the wages of unrighteousness.

(15) Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

But we are not to sit with them for they serve not our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly as they seek their wages from us. They use “good words and fair speeches” to deceive the hearts of the simple and lead them astray from the commandment of God to have love for one another and so the “daily” sacrifice is removed out of our lives so that we might live according to the lusts of men who are never content with what they have as they seek after gain.

Romans 16:17-19 KJV
(17) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
(18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
(19) For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

When we come together, one guy is feeding himself while others are not being fed the Word of Truth. The shepherds are feeding themselves as they pursue their wages of unrighteousness while those who are led astray by them are not fed the Word of Truth.

1 Corinthians 11:17-22 KJV
(17) Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
(18) For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
(19) For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
(20) When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
(21) For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
(22) What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

Woe be to the shepherds (the overseers) who feed themselves (as the preach after their covetousness) and not feed the flocks.

Ezekiel 34:1-6 KJV
(1) And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(2) Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
(3) Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

They “kill” them that are “fed” as the life of Jesus is being prevented from appearing in the mortal bodies of their followers. They are not being healed. (Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you).

(4) The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

The flock has become meat to all of the beasts of the field….that is, the outside world makes a mockery of them as they blaspheme the Word of the Lord. There is no understanding in the churches neither is there any outside of it as the Light is not being made manifest.

(5) And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
(6) My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

The Lord is going to deliver His people from those who feed only themselves. He will search for His sheep and seek them out. The Lord will feed His flock with the Word spoken in sincerity and truth. He will send out His servants to speak what they hear the Spirit saying to the churches so that they may feed and be delivered from wicked and unreasonable men who will resist what they hear and continue feeding themselves.

Ezekiel 34:7-16 KJV
(7) Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
(8) As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
(9) Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
(10) Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
(11) For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
(12) As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
(13) And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
(14) I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
(15) I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.

He will feed those who feed themselves with judgment.

(16) I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

We shall no longer be a prey to the heathen. We shall no longer be the subject of mockery among the world. We shall no longer fall victim to false apostles who preach for money.

Ezekiel 34:28-31 KJV
(28) And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
(29) And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

The world shall know that God is with us and that we are His people. We are His flock and He is our God.

(30) Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.
(31) And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD
.

But will the shepherds listen before all of this comes to pass? Will they be “lukewarm” in their response to what they hear as their hearts shall continue to go after their covetousness?

Ezekiel 33:31-33 KJV
(31) And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
(32) And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
(33) And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
