Rebuking Satan?

Okay. But how does these verses affect everything said.
Ephesians 6
Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. 12For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. 13This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.
Hebrews 6
Therefore, leaving the elementary message about the Messiah, let us go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, faith in God, 2teaching about ritual washings, Or about baptisms laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Absolutely!
According to many christians, we can fight Satan our enemy using all those things mentioned in Eph6, but we mustn't actually speak anything that could possibly construed as offending him such as an actual rebuke, cos only God can do that. LOL

What do you do or say to rebuke him? Do you ever annoint things like your house or the things in it, etc? Do you feel annointing things works for you?

As Satan is not omnipresent, very few of us will have the privilege of handling Satan himself. However dealing with demons is certainly something that all christians should be capable of.
Casting demons out of ourselves, and casting them out of fellow christians, should be normal spiritual life for each believer. The deliverance ministry is not about leadership.

I have seen more christian whose lives have been changed by casting demons out, than by any other ministry. If we ignore the deliverance ministry, then demonic powers will continue to oppress people with impunity.
All through Jesus's ministry, casting demons out was a continuous part of his work, the apostles continuing with that same ministry.
How can we ignore such a major part of what Jesus taught?

I'm trying to deal with a demon that gets into a guy whenever he drinks. He's a christian, but when he drinks..ugh.
I tried telling him the gospel again but he just said 'yeah yeah yeah heard it all before'.
Also he seems to idolise Jim Morrison.
I don't know what to do. I told him Jim Morrison was occult and then he got really angry, and also, dissed Carpenters. Then he started swearing and cursing at me. Hard work I tell you, doesn't want to budge. What do I say..if anything?

Have you given him the gospel? If you've done that, then you've sown the word. There are people who do not have fertile soil that receives the seed of the word with acceptance. They are not ready yet. Let God do the work of tilling his soil, now.

Also remember, casting a demon from someone who does not want that done will cause that demon and some stronger mates to indwell that house later on, which obviously is bad.
Satanists do this - they go for deliverance, but without surrendering to Yeshua, then those same and more powerful demons come back to them, and they become more "powerful" in satan's ranks.

Arrie, I have been hearing this tale about Satanists for 40 years or more and as far as I am concerned it is just an urban myth. Jesus was not talking about Satanists, but ordinary people who had been delivered of demons, but didn't bother to walk in Godliness afterwards, therefore they were completely vulnerable to further attack by even more powerful demons.

Ask yourself, why would a Satanist waste time going via some christians to persuade more demons to enter him, when all he has to do is ask the demons directly to come and empower him. I doubt the demons need asking twice!
Satanists more than anything want power, and that power is entirely spiritual and comes from the demons that dwell inside of him.
In contrast, we should be indwelt and empowered by the Spirit of God, and I know who is more powerful!

Who hasn't watched wild life films"?
Does the prowling lion attack the strong bull of the herd,
or the lumbering pregnant female,
or the infant,
or the one that has become separated from the herd,
or the injured,
or the aged one that can't keep up?
1Pet5v8Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

The purpose of demons is to enter, indwell, empower, control or torment people, and there are many ways they can do this.
I list some of his methods here, but it is by no means a definitive list.
They can enter surreptitiously in a foolish victim, such as when doing pornography, immoral sex, taking drugs.
They can enter by invitation from those seeking spiritual knowledge from sources other than God. ie channelling or seances.
They can enter an unwilling victim when someone is physically, emotionally, or verbally attacked.
They can enter through involvement in martial arts.
They can enter when someone is traumatised or shocked, such as in a bereavement or car crash.
They can enter by direct invitation from those who choose personally to serve Satan.
Satan and his demons are not in the least bit fair in there dealings with man. Therefore we need to learn the art of warfare, rather than acting timid and worried.

Lanolin, not trying to be critical, but after reading your comments on another thread you appear very uptight about alcohol, considering it a big sin. I was just wondering whether you are mixing the gospel with anti drinking legalism. That sentiment came over on the discussion about communion where you couldn't seem to separate the two issues.
Please don't take this as criticism, its merely an observation. I wonder how much it effects your judgement?

About 40 years ago, we had a visitor, a new member of the fellowship I belonged to. When he sat down, he suddenly leapt up with joy and laughed. He had spied a wine bottle on the shelf.
He said that he was so relieved, he thought that he had got involved with a sect and was worried, but having seen the wine bottle he now realised that we were normal, real people.

Back to your friend.
You say a demon gets into him whenever he drinks. If it is true that he really has a problem and has no control, then the demon is already inside and drawing him to the bottle. However, you need to realise that constant judging him will not make him stop. He has to want that first.
The problem with drinking is that it is overt, rather than hidden, thus entirely unsuited for real christians. Yet the non drinker can have all sorts of evil thoughts and sick images floating around his head, and on the outside be considered perfectly nice to all that know him/her!
I realised a long time ago that it wasn't my job to fix all others, especially those who don't want fixing. My primary job is to fix me, and love the rest whilst letting them know there is a better way.

That does make sense, yes Francis.
This was told by someone who used to be in Satanism, so I took it as truth, especially as this person is now a follower of Christ.

No need for them to go for deliverence to get more.

No need for them to go for deliverence to get more.

So true. Anyone who is demonized and controlled by them would NOT submit to deliverance, even as a ruse. The demons are smart enough to know that they could very well be placed in dire jeopardy by someone who knows what they're doing and knows exactly who they are in Christ!

There are too many formal and informal ways to draw strength.
If one went to a church then they are on assignment to disrupt the church and cause division and splits.

Demons love church. Where else would they find so many christians to entrap in one go.
From the perspective of the devil, many churches are like Hitler's concentration camps complete with the deceitful sign over the gates, "Arbeit macht frei." or "work makes you free". Similarly, in many cases, the notion that "church makes you free" can be a very long way from the truth when something other than Christ himself is on the throne.
Jesus accused the teachers of the law and the Pharisees, "you are on your father, the devil". These people were the "church" leaders of the day, taking the people into spiritual bondage.
Similarly, many church leaders today are of their father the devil, also taking people into bondage instead of freedom. 1Tim4v1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

Im a real, normal person who doesnt drink alcohol.
I dont understand.
Are you saying my friend is not a real, christian?
He was talking gibberish when he drank and being very crude and swearing. it wasnt like normal swearing like you say oh $@!# if you do something wrong. This was like cursing everyone out. And being quite abusive and sarcastic to me.
He said he got urges to drink..I dont think thats normal.

I do have wine in my house its just cooking wine, if anybody gives me a bottle it just sits on the shelf cos we dont know what to do with it. We not abnormal cos we dont drink so stop trying to make it like its normal. Its not normal behaviour to be drunk, loud and obnoxious.

Last time went to reataurant, whole table of ladies...irish, so maybe thats got aomething to do with it, all getting pissed (that is nz term for it) and they were talking dirty. My family cringed..it was shocking, they were noisy, crude and we were like...weird. But i suppose its normal for them. This was at a chinese restaurant. Not a pub. Lol. Idk. Irish like to drink. Except I know many that dont and thank God cos I have some irish friends who can I can talk to. Its hard making sense with someone who is drunk. We just smile and say...they acting funny. But i can be funny without drinking.

Wife of the friend was worried...but hes in denial. She said he tries not to drink..operative word TRY not give up completely..so when he does drink..he gets so drunk that hes passed out for days getting over the hangover. i dont know how anyone can live with that.

This is binge drinking. I would say its a problem.
I also used to have a boyfriend that had a drinking problem. he would txt me at some ungodly hour in morning for booty calls. Im like no. I didnt realise ar time that it was his drinking habits that made him like this. Cos I grew up in normal family with ppl who did not drink alcohol.

It's a sad thing what alcohol can do to a person.
We must pray for God's deliverance and guidance onto the path away from alcohol dependency and habit.

I dont know bout you if you can handle it thats fine but I think know your limits at least. Its very dangerous to drink alcohol if you going to be operating machinery like a car, it affects your judgement, plus if you on any medication, it will affect that too. Also if you pregant, you advised not to drink alcohol, andwith alcohol being banned in public places cos of huge problems id say its not a good thing. The negatives outweigh the positives...actually, cant really think of any positives. Tea is just as relaxing.
