Disturbing video: Salvation, the narrow gate

I find this video very disturbing:

I don't agree with everything this guy says (e.g. he says church is a deception from the enemy) but he is right about one thing: most people, incl. many Christians, are headed to hell.

I never liked the salvation theory: how can you honestly know that you're saved? You can't! You can do your best but only God knows.

Is Jesus satisfied with me? Am I doing all I can to worship Him? I honestly don't think so.

I am sorry to have to say this Flavio but....you are flat out wrong.

Faith is the ONLY way to be saved. We are not saved by anything we can do.
Ephesians 2: 8-9...."For by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

This man is putting experiences over scripture. Many of what he says blatantly contradicts scripture. Although alot of what he says is true, his "revelation" and to say that we don't know if we are saved is against scripture. James 2 goes through this.

I agree that many think they are saved, but are not, I also believe that many people in the American church are going to hell. Many people are under false pretenses that they are saved, but they are not in the book of life. There is no such thing as a "lukewarm Christian" when Jesus says he will vomit you out of my mouth. I do not believe he is referencing salvation of a lukewarm church.

Matthew 7:21-23New King James Version (NKJV)
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

This should be a chilling reminder of where we may stand. But you also can be sure in your salvation, God does not give us the spirit of uncertainty.

We CAN indeed know that we are saved! What do you mean, "You can do your best..."??? Only people who have bought into the gospel of performance, which is a false gospel message can say that. No believers who have had a true experience with Jesus Christ and placed their faith in Him will be denied eternal life with Him.

You and this deceptive video are ignoring the gospel of grace. His words are shameful! Jesus is pleased with all of us who have faith in Him. This man in the video is teaching you to STRIVE, which God is not pleased with, rather than to BE.

I got the impression that this man came out of (and died) in the charismatic movement. I concur with him that scripture and Christ are a very serious business. If we are trying to "fit" God into our otherwise worldly lives - we may be complacently walking down the wrong road. I like the idea of asking Jesus, every day, if He is pleased with me. I think he's right that there are complacent Christians that might not make it home. I pray hard for those folks. But I do think you can know you are saved. Doesn't hurt to always check your direction. I prefer my corrections in the here and now....not later. I confess, I have lived most of my life in the "I" lane. If Christ had called before I was 60, I think I would be hellbound. But He woke me up to where I was at.....that's how much He loves each of us. If we would just listen.

This man is a heretic. Faith in Jesus = Eternal Life. He doesn't lose his sheep, God won't lose his children. HERESY! Works do NOTHING to add to what Jesus purchased for you on the cross. Salvation is a GIFT, it is never earned.

I do not know how you can say many Chrisatians are heading to Hell. Perhaps so called Christians or those who calim they are but never walked a day in Christ or became born again.

I know I am saved for His written word says so. I can ask God questions about His word BUT I CAN NOT GO TO QUESTIONING HIS WORD. If God said it was so then it is so.

I agree that good works will not save us but just believing is not enough. Our Lord Jesus is fair and merciful but His expectations are high. Have you ever read the Sermon on the Mountain?

I know that I love Jesus and I want to serve Him the best I can and meet Him in Heaven but I don't know if I'm saved.
Know that you have broken God's laws and that He is the only one who can save you from paying the price of your own sins.
Turn from yourself and don't trust in your own understanding.
Simply place your trust in Jesus and follow Him, right here and right now, moment by moment.
He will do the rest.

Do you live up to what he taught then?. He exalted the law to new heights even the pharisees could not reach. "Be perfect as you heavenly father is perfect." Are you perfect? No? Then your efforts mean nothing as far as salvation goes.

Romans 10:12-13
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."
Mark 16:16
He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
Like the other folks here have mentioned there are plenty more passages that say more or less the same thing.

If you truly accept that Christ is Lord, then you have God Himself as your advocate, you need not worry.
The next thing is to live the part, LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE. Where many fail is the notion that once you have your "union card" you can sit on your behind and whatever mistakes you make are automatically forgiven. That is not the case.
As Jesus said "If you love me, do as I say."

Have you ever read the Sermon on the Mountain?

Ahh,,,,, it easy to read....
the difficult part is understanding, have we understand what we read?

The Beatitudes
Wow, simply wow.. those are precisely the promises! The very promise of the same person we believe in…
I think, I really need to take time to listen more to those promises : )

The Antithesis…
Precisely I think… it is about what is more important
Christ fulfills the law
There is more important than the TEXT of the Law: and that is the core, the SPIRIT of the law….. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law, the Spirit of the Law!
Murder
Anger compared to murder, ie: danger of judgment… precisely: what is the core, the spirit of the law.
Adultery
Adultery compared to lust in the heart… precisely, it tackles the core, the Spirit of the what that law is all about…
Marriage
Precisely, it is about Faith, notice the exception: it is about Faith…..
Oaths
Precisely, where we put our Faith on… Oaths is putting out faith in what WE can do…
Go the Second mile
An eye for an eye = that is Justice in Action.... an Action for an Action... took notice last sentence how it is related to previous sentences: an Action! Laziness, inaction, being passive:…. Love is ACTIVE…. an Action!
Love your Enemies
Precisely, Love is more than feelings, more than emotion….. Love your enemies is impossible with feelings, by emotions, by ACTION it is possible. Be perfect in Love, as God is Love….

Hmmm. what am saying.... am replying to your question: “have you read Sermon in the Mount?.... yes, it is easy to read : )

We pray for understanding….

Is my understanding is correct? Hmm…. what is your understanding in the first place… we can talk : )

Matthew 5 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Beatitudes
5 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christ Fulfills the Law
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Murder Begins in the Heart
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder,a]'>[a] and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a causeb]'>[b] shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.

Adultery in the Heart
27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,c]'>[c] ‘You shall not commit adultery.’d]'>[d] 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Marriage Is Sacred and Binding
31 “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immoralitye]'>[e] causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

Jesus Forbids Oaths
33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Go the Second Mile
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’f]'>[f] 39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

Love Your Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighborg]'>[g] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,h]'>[h] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethreni]'>[i] only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectorsj]'>[j] do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

I know that I love Jesus and I want to serve Him the best I can and meet Him in Heaven but I don't know if I'm saved.

If that is the case with you, I can only encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ and come to understand just what it is He has done for you and given to you. Commit your life to Jesus Christ, and make that declaration today and you will be saved. To doubt it is unbelief, Unbelief is a serious problem and it hinders a person from receiving all God desires to give him. It also hinders growth and one's usefulness to God. You can't serve God if you cannot trust Him or believe in His word!

Romans 10:9-10
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Be set free, TODAY, Flavio!

You are saved you just need to start living the new life Jesus has given you.
Question, have you been baptised?
If you havent thats a good starting point in not only believing but obeying and trusting God.

It isn't wise to pronounce people saved when you--or they themselves---don't know that. Once a person is saved, then baptism is to be offered. First things first.

Doubts come from satan. He always tries to attack new christians saying they arent saved.
What we can do is encourage new believers that they have assurance they are saved. And that satan cannot pluck them out of Jesus hand. When Jesus saves, he saves completely.

We need to act on this knowledge.
