Looking for some information on fellowship groups

It seems to me that you are having an issue with STYLE. There are churches whose strength is in contemporary worship. Ask God to lead you to one of HIS choosing for you, and BINGO! You're IN!

I must say, though, that boredom is YOUR problem. God loves a heart that worships Him in spirit and in truth---and with all his heart. He is never bored.
"................boredom is your problem......"
I disagree.
After about fifty years experience with innumerable churches, I find most churches to be very very boring, particularly when most of the ministry revolves around one man at the front. The reason they are boring is that they do not reflect anything like a biblical church which never places the ministry on one man's entertainment skills.
I suspect that God would be very bored with such monotony, however as he probably doesn't attend such institutions, he might not have that problem! LOL

For myself, I would never again attend a church that revolved around what happens at the front. Unless the body participates in ministering from the Holy Spirit, as scripture indicates, in my mind it is not a church of Jesus Christ, but a man made institution.

Worship is always from the heart my brother not the ears.

1 Peter 2:9.........
"You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light".

Church as in any other corporate meeting must have a leader. IBM has a president. Ford Motor Co. has a president.
Every single nation in the world has a leader. WHY?????

To have order and limit chaos and explain the dimensions of truth which apply to the reason why you are there. Whether it be church or a board meeting or company gathering.

Boredom in hearing truth is not the church's problem so much as a heart attitude with one who chooses to be.

Absolutely correct and if any person is in love with the Lord Jesus Christ that person will love to be in the house of God.

Now the key is to find one in which you are comfortable with in its style of worship.

He has led me to things already, I just came back to Christianity so its almost like starting over but I am finding that my biggest problem is patience. I am working on it though and thankfully many of you here have been an enormous help to me even if you do not know it.

I thank you all for that more than I can say.

God bless you!

My dear believer in Christ. I am so pleased that you are being involved in our faith. May I say to you concerning your original comment on church services and styles that there is a worship that expresses the heart, and worship that involves the mind, and a worship that involves the body. There is a worship that is giving praise upward, a worship that is receiving instructions from above, and a worship that carries out instruction in the world around us.

As a Christian, We need all three types of worship. Some people focus primarily on speaking or singing praise to God. Praise is good, but if all we do is praise God, without ever listening to what he says, we have to ask whether we believe the words we are saying. If he is really all wise and all loving, then we need to be attentive to what he is telling us, because he is worth listening to.

Similarly, all talk and no action does not show God the respect he deserves. Actions speak louder than words, and if our behavior isn’t changed by God, then our actions are saying that God isn’t important.

You do know that the Scriptures tell us that Jesus died for His church and also that we as believers are called to attend church.....right?

When you become a Christian, you are called into a relationship with God according to 1 Cort. 1:9. Then in 1 John 1:3 we see that it makes it clear that we enter a fellowship that goes two ways: with God and with other Christians.

All the way through the Bible in the New Test., it assumes that everybody participates in their local assembly. It gives no samples of Christians who belong to the “universal church” but have no link with a local church.

My brother, God designed the church as a place where spiritual leaders could watch out for our welfare, as a shepherd guards the sheep which is the picture in 1 Peter 5:1-4 and Hebrews 13:17. A Christian who answers only to himself can easily rationalize sinful attitudes or actions however regular contact with other Christians can keep us sharp.

A single verse should actually be sufficient answer for this question:.............
Hebrews 10:25 warns all of us against ........“forsaking the assembly of yourselves together, as the manner of some is.”

I get very bored if churches sing the same songs over and over and over again, like three times, as if God hadnt heard the first time, and within these songs, repeat the chorus over and over again.

During these times, if the sermon is not actually speaking to me, I read the bible. I also take notes for myself in a little book. If you not used to lectures I suppose it is boring but those sermons are for the edification of the church. I almost always obtain something valuable from them. If nothing else, the scripture reading and prayer and being with believers and sharing the lords supper is valuable.

I suggest ask God which church fellowship hed best like you in, but also, be reading the bible everyday and building up your faith.

Also maybe...the churches you may have been to are quite rigid and hieracrchical. Some people like order. Some people just gather and its 'messy church'. Wherever we gather we need to be praying thats where the holy spirit is leading us.

It isn't for your entertainment that choruses and songs are repeated. It should be because Holy Spirit is in charge and He loves to hear it. After all, there is repetition in the heavenly realm---"Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy". I sue hope you don't suffer boredom in heaven.

Revelation 4:8
Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—
the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

Isaiah 6:2-4
Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3 They were calling out to each other,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies!
The whole earth is filled with his glory!”

4 Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.

To compare the body of Christ to Ford Motor Co. or to IBM or a typical nation shows a distinct lack of comprehension as to how the church is supposed to function.
The business model hierarchical command structure has no place in church, Despite it being the norm, that still doesn't mean its not erroneous and contradictory to scripture.
Jesus made this very clear when some of the disciples tried to muscle into his plan of humility rather than power for the church.

Matt20v20Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.

21“What is it you want?” he asked.

She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
22..........
23..........
24When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
26 It shall not be so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
27and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—
28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Despite the fact that Jesus said the hierarchical command structures of the nations must never be applied to his kingdom on earth, that is exactly what the church has done. It has built its existence on false worldly foundations, rather than on Christ.
The purpose of the hierarchical structures found in all institutions of businesses, military, or nations etc. is to pass commands downwards and to communicate information upwards.
Without a hierarchical structure chaos will rule unless the CEO, President, King, General, has the unlikely ability of at all times being able to give clear direction to each members of the whole, and of knowing the minutiae of what was going on with each member of the whole.
Silly me, Jesus, being Lord of all has that capability. He alone knows the end from the beginning, and can speak to every member of his own body. Such a shame that they have largely replaced him with the systems and methods called church.

You have a point there lol!

I have heard some Christians express how boring it would be to praise God all day in heaven. Personally, I think they don't understand what they are saying saying this.

Right you are! We won't be able to keep from singing and praising God, and it will be new all the time!

I was simply tring to show you of examples in every ones REAL life which I thought you would understand so as to motivate you to get involved with a local church, no more and no less. I have been involved in church work and activities for almost 40 years and I am very confident in how one operates and functions, however It seems that you have taken my comments in a way that was not intended. My apologies to you.

Meaning what in connection with my post?
FYI, I don't have to attend church to worship and serve God my saviour.

Nothing. It is just that many people refuse to get near a church unless their nephew is playing the role of a sheep in the Christmas pageant! They claim they can get more out of a walk in the woods than from the typical sermon.

I just wonder how they will act in heaven when all we will do is go to church as the worship of the Lord Jesus will be a full time on going relationship. If they can not do it here on the earth, how will they do it in heaven?

Klub, you might be confident in how the various churches you've experienced have operated, unfortunately your understanding still contradicts scripture, as I previously pointed out.
You condemn the way church gatherings are actually described in scripture, and yet fully support a false man made top down system.

1Cor14v26What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.27If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret;…

Do you see that Paul's description shows everyone participating in the gathering, and each one ministering via the use of the "charismatic" gifts.
(I use the word charismatic only in the generic sense and not as a backing for any church movement.)
If you are ministering in church without using the gifts of the spirit, then that leaves you operating in the flesh! That's hardly a recipe for edifying the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is it?
