For by him were all things created

Colossians 1:16 KJV
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

This verse basically confirms that Jesus created evil, and sin.

No, it actually doesn't Juk.

Evil is an absence of good and sin is a transgression of the law(going against something). Both of these are an absence of something, and a result of free will. Just like cold is an absence of heat and dark is an absence of light.

Remember Juk that all of those things were created before man fell and brought sin and death and evil into this world.

When we consider Adam's sin, we need to understand that we are talking about our sin.

God created beings with the ability to make a moral choice. To sin, or to not sin. Creating those beings (Adam & Eve -- and us) did not compel them (us) to sin. God created us so that we could glorify Him by choosing not to sin. When we failed, our merciful God provided a means to bring us back into fellowship without violating His holiness.

Hmm... So we glorify God by choosing not to sin? Even more motivation not to!

He did not "create" evil. Evil comes out of the hearts of rebellious spirits and peoples, not God. Is evil still a part of his Good plan? Yes. Can any evil happen without God's ordination? No.

Glory to God that WE chose not to sin. What?

More like, glory to God that HE saved us from sin!

You got to be careful, God's purpose in creation is to glorify Him. If you then say that God is only glorified by saving us from sin, then it makes the Glory due to God dependent upon our sin? !!!

Did I say only? No. The point was this, God doesn't get glory from things we do on our own, but from things he does through us. Our sin gives God no glory, and neither does our "righteousness". His righteouesness is his glory, and his saving us is his glory. I am not limiting the glory of God, I am just giving it its proper place. Truthfully he gets glory in all things, but to say he gets glory based on our decisions is wrong.

Joh 1:1.. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2.. The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3.. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The word, "Word" here is the Greek word "Logos". From logos we get the English word, "logic, reason"
Before any man or even God does anything no matter how trivial it is there must be a purpose, and a reason why you do or say it.
We find out what God's "reason" was for creating everything that exists whether it be Angels, principalities, powers Heaven, earth, and even man.

Col 1:16.. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Everything in existence was made by Christ, and it was made for Christ!!! If every thing was made for Jesus Christ, then everything was also made for us sense he is our head, and we are his body!!!

As for Evil we find this......

Isa 45:6.. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
Isa 45:7.. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and
create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

From the outset, God does not on purpose create "evil", but he did create the spiritual being who became "evil" and brought sin into this world, known as Lucifer. There is a huge difference between on purpose creating evil to creating a being, beautiful, and full of Wisdom and then became sin. Even thou God created this being he did not cause it to happen as all of God's spiritual beings have a free will choice.

The word "evil" in that verse is calamity. The word evil is often used in this way in the king James version.

Evil is what people do on purpose, and have no regrets over what they do. Sin, on the other hand is what people do, and have regrets, and feel remorse over their actions. Jesus was a "friend" to sinners, but he was not a friend to "evil" men. Jesus taught us to pray.....

Mat_6:13.. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

He did not say "deliver us from sin....". Evil is the results of sin, but evil people do evil things on purpose without remorse.

Yes, I agree. I was simply pointing out what evil meant in that verse you quoted.
The word adversity can also be used in that verse.

Evil and Sin are the same.
