Joshua 1:7-8
Only be strong and very courageous (alert, obstinate, steadfastly minded) that you may observe (take heed to, guard, to hedge about with thorns, protect) to do (accomplish) according to all the law (instruction, direction, (human or divine prophetic) to point out, to teach) which Moses My servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper (wisely understand, have insight, prosper, have good success) wherever you go.
This book (writing, evidence) of the law (direction, instruction, body of prophetic teaching, priestly direction or instruction, torah) shall not depart (be removed) from your mouth (speech) but you shall meditate (mutter, imagine, ponder, murmur, roar) in it day and night that you may observe (take heed to, guard or protect, keep watch ~ in other words do not just hear (James 1:22-25) to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way (course of life, journey ~ James 3:16) prosperous (succeed, to be successful, to push forward in various senses, be profitable (prosperity) and then thou shalt have good success.
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech (invite, encourage) you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that you present (to yield, submit) your bodies (flesh, mind, will, emotions, thoughts ~ entire being) a living sacrifice (meaning to resist worldly, selfish attitudes and ways..Mt 16:24, Mk 8:34; 10:21; Luke 9:23~ self denial) holy (sacred, physically and morally pure blameless (John 8:1-11; 1 John 1:9) acceptable to God, which is your reasonable (logical) service
And be not conformed (to fashion alike, conform oneself (mind and character) to the same pattern) to this world: but be ye transformed (change into another form, transfigure) by the renewing (renovation) of your mind that ye may prove (discern, test, examine, scrutinize, deem worthy) what is that good, and acceptable (fully ageeable) and perfect (complete, mature) will (desire, purpose) of God.
