War Room

Has anyone seen this yet? If not I would highly recommend it. It's all about the power of prayer and connecting with God through our private conversations with Him. I'm not going to write a review on it, however, I must say that Miss Clara was such a great character; such a wonderful spiritual mentor.

If you have seen it, what were your likes/dislikes?

I just got back from the theater, seeing War Room, and I was impressed by it. Everyone knows someone who struggles with the same things this family struggles with. I was overcome with the stark similarity of the older woman in the film with a woman I actually know! She prays just like we are supposed to!

I am grateful to God for teaching me this kind of warfare praying---taking the authority over Satan which we have been given and using it!

Because of this story, I am asking God to send me someone to share with and to teach this same kind of prayer life. I have had a plan for a few years now to set up an extra room in my home (when my daughter moves out) to make it my prayer closet, but until that time, there is no reason not to set aside a small space just for me and Jesus---somewhere!

Hi there,
Looking on line for more information about the film 'War Room', I came across the link above. I enter it because it is good to see a contrary view to those already expressed, in order to get a balance of opinion.

The emotionally charged language of the review insinuates some type of personal vendetta the author has against the Kendrick Brothers. I am also curious as to what we would find in the author's (Elizabeth Prada) daily life if we were to dissect it and put it out there for everyone to see. Elizabeth seems caught up on the merchandise and other nonsensical aspects attached to the movie. The author also references that her doctrinal views mirror those of John MacArthur's 'Grace to You' website (quite odd); this website also has a section in which merchandise is sold. If anything, Elizabeth only showed her own hypocrisy when trying to demean others in Christ. We are still fallible beings; movies about Christ and the bible will never be perfect. Focusing on the movie only, ask yourself - was this movie profitable; was it edifying; was it done out of love; was it done out of faith. If yes to all 4, it is my personal opinion that there be no issue.

Hello @Brian Kurkjian ,

It is good to see both sides of the coin. You have now given an admirable defence of the content of the film. I probably will never see it, or any of the others mentioned, but others may, and it is good to know what those that have, say, both for and against, so that you are prepared to weigh it's doctrinal basis in the balance of God's revealed Truth, for yourself.

Thank you.

The "doctrinal basis" of the movie is scriptural. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to actually see the movie for yourself.
