Johanna Michaelson and Spiritual discernment

And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)

Spiritual discernment is a major issue for any Christian.

Several years ago, I took a new age/astrology course and discernment was never mentioned. All spirits were supposedly good or harmless, which is obviously not true. I believe the Holy Spirit was already guiding me, even in those years of atheism and spiritual darkness, because I never found those new age teachings appealing and quit after a year. Thank God for that!

Evil is real, hell is real, demons are real and if they can appear to us as angels of light, how do we know the difference?

And most importantly, how do we know for sure?

I love Johanna Michaelson, she is a wonderful speaker and her testimony is fascinating but also disturbing. Michaelson's story shows that you can do good in the name of God and still be hellbound and deceived by the enemy.

We have been given a way to test the spirits to see if they are from God or not. 1John 4:1-3, " Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you may know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

The "fruit" of the Spirit which all born again Spirit filled Christians bear can never be "duplicated" by any false deceiving spirit. These false prophets or teachers only have external carnal ramblings that sound good to the natural man, and his way of thinking, but can never imitate the "anointing" of God. Jesus said you will know them by their "fruit", not by their words. It is very very easy to detect the same Spirit that is in a Christian to that in another person as they are both the same Spirit. A good tree can NEVER produce bad fruit, as the fruit comes from the seed of the Word of God, and not from man himself.

Mat 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Mat 7:16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Mat 7:17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
Mat 7:18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

Since Satan is a "deceiver" can we say that the ones deceiving, are the same ones claiming to every one do not be deceived?

every spirit that confesses that Jesus has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

This always reminds of Islam, which denies incarnation.

Jesus said you will know them by their "fruit", not by their words.

True but this doesn't solve everything.

Again, Johanna Michaelson. She was in Mexico healing the sick and doing it in God's name and yet she was being deceived by the enemy.

I haven't read her book yet and I don't know all the details but she still seems extremely disturbed by those events.

She is not the only one.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
