Sugar is poison

So a study has found
Over a period of nine days, the children followed a meal plan that included all snacks and drinks, but restricted sugar intake.
Added sugar was banned but fruit was allowed.
The diet overall had the same fat, protein, carbohydrate, and calorie levels as their previous diets at home, with the carbohydrate from sugar replaced by foods such as bagels, cereals and pasta. Hot dogs, crisps and pizza from local supermarkets all featured in the diet.
Initial fasting blood levels, blood pressure, and glucose tolerance were assessed before the new meals were eaten.
During the study, if the children did lose weight, they were given more of the low sugar foods to keep weight stable.
Overall, the total dietary sugar in the meal plan was was reduced from 28 per cent to 10 per cent, and fructose from 12 per cent to 4 per cent of total calories.
The results showed that the new meal plan led to dramatic improvements in health in a short time, with a drop in blood pressure and cholesterol, and improved liver function.
Fasting blood glucose levels fell by five points while insulin levels were cut by a third, researchers from the University of California San Francisco and Touro University in California said.
Lead author, Dr Robert Lustig, said: "This study definitively shows that sugar is metabolically harmful not because of its calories or its effects on weight; rather sugar is metabolically harmful because it's sugar.

You know sir at any other time I would has disagreed with you and made funny faces at the screen. However that is not the case now !!

God has been showing us how our bodies are reacting from the different sugar levels and types of sugar found in almost all foods. It is not pretty nor am I liking this much. I mean when I can actually begin to feel nauseous when I intake a higher dose of sugar then yea - something is wrong.. Higher does is not like glutton or anything. lol
Thanks and Blessings
Jim

Sounds like the story of Daniel and his bunch when they were first taken captive and persuaded the kings helper to allow them to eat only fruit, vegetables and drink water, compared to the others who ate all the food from the kings table. They were more healthy and alert and even their skin color looked better.

Sugar has also been found to slow down the function of the intestines, so that we don't get rid of the waste as quick and thus the toxins stay in the body longer, and can cause weight gain and other harmful things.

Blessings

I just watched tidbits of the 'sugar film'. My family was forcing me to watch it.

Yes, sugar is bad :( and whats worse is that everything on the shelves has it :(.

I never knew that yoghurt had so much!! My wife is checking the sugar contents of everything we buy now :(.

This is such a depressing thread. Please don't someone start one on salt too.

However, Your body NEEDS sugar. But if you get too much your pancreas kiks in to reduce the amount. Then again if you have LOW blood sugar you just die. That's why diabetics stay on strict diet and or use insulin.
I agree though that sugar can be a killer in both ways....too much or too little

Praise God for natural sugar and the Word of God! If we eat the things that God has made, and stand on His Word that because we worship or serve Him, His blessing is on our food and water, (ex. 23:25) then we can stay in divine health and not have to allow our body submit to any illness.

God Bless

Sugar also makes you look older!

I think it stimulates the hormone cortisol, which if active in the body for too long can cause the body to go into self attack mode, attacking the cells, hair etc! Joyce Meyer taught me that.

But this was confirmed when they did a study at a university in UK and they found that the individuals who had a high blood glucose content coincidentally looked older! And the ones who barely consumed sugar at all were vibrant, youthful and "plump" (well the cells had a nice plump structure).

Been off sugar for almost 6 months now. My fast ends in about 3 weeks. The first 3 weeks were TOUGH. I could peel the paint off the wall with cravings - hardened caramel laden ice cream with nuts, white chocolaty cake, raisin filled doughy, sugary, bready bakes, etc etc. Today, say coke can size jar of honey will last me almost 2 months. A teaspoon every other day is ok. I can even go a week without touching the stuff. Its the best thing that ever happened to me for my skin and putting my appetite in order.

On my fast I ate anything so long as God made it in its pure form - eliminating majority of additives, preservatives etc, eating even only 100% original salt crystals. As a woman I needed at least only fish and red meat though (we need the iron). Other than that veg, fruit, dark carbs (whole rice, veg based carbs), no wheat, bread, rices, pasta etc no cakes drinks fizzy, nothing. no sweets, crisps, sausages butter etc. just say about 5 carbs, veg, fruit, meat, fish, water and more water, heavy oils like olive etc.

I ate anything any time any amount. After 5 months my appetite balanced, just like that. I was drinking 100% fruit juices and eating raisins like crazy cause I am a sweet tooth person. But one day at month 5 it just literally changed.

I eat what my body needs now. My body tells me what I need. I can now listen to it fortunately but found that even more than the junk food - sugar prevented me from "hearing" what my appetite was saying. Sugar is bad fullstop.

:)

Benefit of my 6 month no sugar fast?:

As a former Coca Cola person - iced coke, bottled etc?

If I drink 6 teaspoons of coke I feel like I am being strangled.
Of late I get that feeling when I eat breads, jams, and meats.
Horrible feeling.

So I am back to my fast.

I use to be a type 2 diabetic and weighed 319lbs from being addicted to sugar, undiagnosed with Lyme disease until june 8th 2017 and I learned about insulin resistance from Dr Berg and then found his videos on intermittent fasting and healthy Keto, in 3 months my diabetes was reversed, feeling a whole lot better, addictions gone. I’ve been on keto ever since, now on carnivore a version of keto and have lost a total of 73lbs. Ive tried things with sugar twice since but no longer like the taste of sugar

Yes Bob intermittent fasting and healthy Keto is for everyone despite what some doctors might tell you. They key to reversing type 2 diabetes, and controlling type 1 is taking care of insulin resistance and having the need for insulin less. Unfortunately Doctors, nutritionists don’t tell diabetics about this because Keto doesn’t make them money, doesn’t make health insurance money, certainly doesn’t make the drug companies money and the sugar, snack companies lose money why they sponsor so many false tests on keto and fat, and cholesterol . Why? Because healthy Keto makes our bodies feel so much better and we’re no longer addicted to Sugar and MSG also known as modified food starch which is another addiction. Watching Dr Berg on YouTube is how I learned the Truth

Hey Walker,

Good stuff! I'll definitely check this out before sharing with my loved ones.

I'm blessed you are feeling healthy. Keep it up!

God bless you, brother.

Most of my knowledge about nutrition came from books by Adelle Davis. Her books are available at amazon and I highly recommend them. They were published about 50 years ago, so a few things have changed. For instance, the official opinion of butter has reversed several times. Nevertheless, her books are still the most popular introduction to the field.

Ms. Davis describes one meeting she attended where the main man "ranted with astounding fury about poison white sugar." She said she wondered what such people planned to do with good health in case they should acquire it.

The human body needs about forty nutrients in balanced amounts to maintain health. It is smart to be aware of what one eats, but to concentrate on one nutrient apart from all the others is one fortieth part-smart.
