The Ten Virgins

The parables were for the Jews since they didn't want to listen to Jesus' truth, Mat 13. So, last night while talking to my wife about the Ten Virgins (Matt 25) I received a thought about who they are representing. I've always had issues with them being "Christian" because 5 are "I never knew you" so they're not saved. Clearly the oil is the Holy Spirit, but what could it mean. That's when the thought came that the Ten Virgins represent Israel and the Church, Israel and false Christians who "prayed" the prayer but never let it come into their heart, Mar 4, having received the light, but only the head understanding and not the heart belief.

This is one of my favorite parables of all times, it never gets old, not ever. There are so many ways to see this, I absolutely love it, lol

Very interesting thoughts.

Upon meditating on this, yes it was to the Jews, but it can be transferred to Christians.
Their lamps are the Word.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

The oil is the Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit to understand the Truth in the Holy Scriptures.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Those who pretend Christian will be scrambling to understand the scriptures when Christ calls His bride away.
This also goes with Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Wow, I was just given a link in my head to the oil not burning up in the Temple which is commemorated by Chanukah, or Hanukkah. I was thinking about letting our light shine at all times since the Oil (Holy Spirit) will never burn out. When searching on the topic, one of the search returns was :

1 Kings 17:16The bowl of flour was not exhausted nor did the jar of oil become empty, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke through Elijah.

Not only did the oil (HS) not become empty or used up, but the flour was not exhausted. Of course we know flour and oil is used to make bread....Jesus is the bread of life, so we the Body of Christ are never exhausted or used up. Until He comes for us.
1 Kings 17:14 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’

Let it rain, Lord.
