Was Mary 14 or 20: birth of Jesus?

I've read that Mary was as young as 12 or 13
or
as old as 20.
To me 12 or 13 is highly unlikely even given the child bride nature of historic cultures.

26In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be calledb the Son of God. 36Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37For no word from God will ever fail.”
38“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Just the way Mary talks, while young women might be mature I don't think their approach to seeing an Angel and having a conversation with one would be very mature between 12 to 15.

What do you think? any ladies out there with teenage daughters??

Not sure that is a valid point. Maybe it is, however I don't want to judge a young girl's response from 2000+ years ago.
In favour of an older age for Mary is Gabriel's comment in V36. "even Elizabeth...."implies the possibility that Mary, like Elizabeth was getting on in years.
Perhaps Mary while not old as such, was getting beyond the age when maidens were expected to be married and having children. That would make reasonable sense of Gabriel's comments to my way of thinking.

It's an impossible question. It cannot be answered with any authority behind it. She was who she was.

We have a possible hint in the Book of Luke 1:36 (KJV) "36 - And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren."

Mary's cousin Elisabeth was past the age of being able to have children (age 43 to 53 approximately) at the time of John the Baptist's conception. Since Mary and Elisabeth were cousins, their age difference would probably be 20 years or less, making Mary in her early to mid 20's, by scriptural and logical deduction. This is just one possibility, but may be close to what actually transpired.

Greetings:
I think it's a low number.Adam and Eve were humans in God's garden, and were thrown out with a flaming sword in their face.
So she would be the first recreated human,God in the inside, just like me,a temple(improvements in the mail) of the Holy Ghost.
So the event would be before sixteen, when our dear teenages have a closed bone gap and a closed mind, becoming typical adults.
bye

I completely disagree with 14. Even if done in that time. Every respectable father of a daughter today knows that 14 is too young. If we can set age limits of 18, how much more God? God does not conform to our 'times / norm'. Pedophilia is a sin. God does not sin.
