Feeling low and un-blessed

Hey Flavio, it sounds like your day really sucked!

'And not only that, but we boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope' Romans 5: 3-4

Which in my own personal translation means, 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'!!!

You'll be a stronger person from your experience. Don't blame God. Maybe he's trying to show you something.

We all have 'bad' days. It's what we learn from them that counts.

1000 x blessings

I've had such a terrible day today, I don't even know what to say.

1. A former student of mine behaved like an idiot and embarrassed me in front of my colleagues.

2. A work meeting went really bad.

3. And a field trip that I had carefully planned for several months turned out to be a complete fiasco because of the terrible weather - I had prayed for good weather but God didn't hear me and the weather was always fine except during the 90 minutes that the field trip lasted.

I have cursed God and didn't even pray today because, well, I'm angry at Him.

This is Gods view of the events:

1. A perfect opportunity was created to allow the love, mercy, humility, grace and patience of Jesus shine.
2. Another opportunity to turn a bad situation around and allow Jesus to shine.
3. Perfect setting for some indoor fellowship / witnessing.

Relax, just take things as they come. God is always with you.

"... Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven ..."

It was pointed out to me the other day that we so often want OUR will to be done on earth as per OUR own desires or expectations, not God's will but ours. We all have bad days and spans of time when nothing seems to be working the way WE want it to go. These times present us with a big opportunity to turn to God with humble grace and thank Him for the blessings that we do have, and pray for things to be better, should it be His will. I know someone who prayed to God to win the lottery and when this didn't happen, she was very angry with God - like super angry and resentful. God's overall plans for us and the world around us are something we shall never know or understand. This is where we must trust completely in God that whatever is happening at the time is for our greater good, and perhaps to refine us so that we may grow closer to Him and be shaped for His purpose for us on this earth. God wants us to pray to Him for all things, but we must be prepared for when His answer to our prayers is "no". We can react to this by being angry or we can try to use it to deepen our prayer life and our relationship with God. When we start to view God as a means by which we can acquire things or get everything to go our way, then we have lost our way and it is time to get back to basics. The basics being praying for God to teach us to love, to protect us from evil, for His daily guidance, to help us grow in faith, and to make Him the center of our prayers and desires. Our prayer life is often missing an essential element, and that element is praise and thankfulness to our Creator. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in asking for our needs, we forget to worship and thank God. Difficult as it is, when things don't go our way it is often useful to temporarily suspend our emotional reaction and to ask ourselves if there is any purpose to these temporary obstacles. Often there are valuable lessons to be learned, and how sad that they should be eclipsed by our anger. Only a loving Father rebukes his children in order to teach them. And I have personally witnessed in my own life that when things went wrong, there was a good reason for it - in many cases it ended up that I was ultimately being protected from something much worse or being given an amazing revelation to help me grow spiritually. It has been my experience that sincere prayer and thankful worship in the midst of trial and tribulations brings rewards to my spirit that are incredibly valuable and so very much well worth the momentary frustration of having things not go my way.
