Hello brothers and sisters;

Job was weary of any hope about the future and was heavy laden with thoughts of death and the grief that would go with it. But God hears Job and when He arrives, I personally shudder when I read how God reveals Job's ignorance of the world's way and reveal God's righteous order.

As far as the book of Job, one thing in particular that stands out for me, is the "behold" verses.
[[Job 40:15-24 KJV] 15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. 16 Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly. 17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. 18 His bones [are as] strong pieces of brass; his bones [are] like bars of iron. 19 He [is] the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach [unto him]. 20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. 21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. 22 The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about. 23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, [and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth. 24 He taketh it with his eyes: [his] nose pierceth through snares.
I know it's probably just my personal thoughts on it, but the behold draws my attention to a lesson or truth, (like is done in the Bible with other things in nature/parables)... it makes me ask what is it about this beast that we can observe and learn from?
We are told:
1. Behold
2. I made with thee
3. He is the chief of the ways of God
4. "He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. 22 The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about." (For whatever reason, this makes me think of the trinity)
5. he trusteth
6. he taketh it with his eyes.
I just find that particular section very deep. I think it would make a beautiful sermon or study topic.

[Psa 148:1-14 KJV]
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. 2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. 3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. 4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that [be] above the heavens. 5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. 6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. 7 Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: 8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: 9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: 10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: 11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: 12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: 13 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory [is] above the earth and heaven. 14 He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; [even] of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

Uh...dont know about them donuts...devils food?? Maybe not for me.

Could I just have manna?

JUst catching up with this - the book of Job I always find interesting that people can interpret Job so differently.
The thing is Job trusted in himself he was righteous- even more righteous than God and thought he could tell him what to do! His three friends, also reasoned God was responsible for punishing the wicked and Job must have sinned in some way. But that was no help to Job. Only young Elihu who offered his opinion could see what was wrong, because he actually asked God for wisdom.

How mAny times do people think they can speak for God and then distort His character? But they dont actually ask God Himself for wisdom?

Actually it was Light Be !!
Many translations have weakened His command to almost a question.

When I saw this from several teachings it made sense.
Blessings
amen - the hebrew words say LIGHT BE and LIGHT BE - which doesn't sound like good gramar

we would say LIGHT BE and LIGHT WAS - but in hebrew it's different

this basically means that it happened exactly word for word as God said it

[Pro 8:1-36 KJV]
1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice [is] to the sons of man. 5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips [shall be] right things. 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth [are] in righteousness; [there is] nothing froward or perverse in them. 9 They [are] all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. 10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11 For wisdom [is] better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. 12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 13 The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. 14 Counsel [is] mine, and sound wisdom: I [am] understanding; I have strength. 15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. 16 By me princes rule, and nobles, [even] all the judges of the earth. 17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. 18 Riches and honour [are] with me; [yea], durable riches and righteousness. 19 My fruit [is] better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. 20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When [there were] no depths, I was brought forth; when [there were] no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he prepared the heavens, I [was] there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: 28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 30 Then I was by him, [as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him; 31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights [were] with the sons of men.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed [are they that] keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34 Blessed [is] the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

I was reviewing some sections that I've already read, and noticed something that had not caught my attention the first time.

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he [was] the priest of the most high God. [Gen 14:18 KJV]
----------
*Melchizedek = king of Salem and priest of the Most High God to whom Abram paid tithe after the battle he fought to free Lot; 'the order of Melchizedek' the order of the priesthood to which Christ belongs.
*Salem= Jerusalem= peace
*bread and wine= communion
-----------
The part I didn't catch the first time was that he brought bread and wine.

Just sharing...
Happy reading :)
