Having Fun - Names Of Our Log In And Avatar

Well I chose lanolin because for me it means anointed sheep. It makes me think of Jesus. Lanolin is sheep grease or oil that comes from wool. Good for your hands! And any other parts of skin that is dry.

My avatar is actually a comic version of me I originally used it when I was answering online questions with children at the library...for a service called Any Questions. They would ask me any questions and I would have to answer them or at least show them how to find the answers. Boy that was sometimes nervewracking. Of course they needed to be homework or school research questions not just ANY questions but even if they asked a silly question we still needed to answer. We couldnt turn them away and say well that is a stoopid question!

Some people wonder why I am always answering posts quickly and responding well sometimes I cannot resist answering a question as I know the answer will always be in the bible!

My pastor always said the answer to any question is JESUS. I have to say ultimately that is correct.

Hello Lanolin;

Oil in the Old and New Testaments signified obedience and holiness to God, anointing the heads of the High Priests, healing and other uses. But I had no idea lanolin meant anointed sheep. Now I understand the meaning.

When I was growing up in elementary school, my parents took me to a therapist and was told I had a vivid imagination from writing. I grew up spending much time writing, not stories but lyrics to music.

I want to encourage you to keep writing. We enjoy reading your threads, posts and learning from you and each other.

God bless you, Lanolin and your family.

Hello brothers and sisters;

I don't know if this is already a thread but I was curious. What led you to give your log name and avatar here at CFS?

Proverbs 22:1, A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.

I have faith in Christ so gave myself the name Bob in faith. My avatar is because I like the color grey. lol!
Hello brothers and sisters;

I've been using bob in faith for 15 years but I could never come up with anything for my avatar.

I am always curious about your log name and avatar and notice you will change your picture. What led you to come up with these?

Maybe I should change my name if a good name is to be chosen.

I thought a good name means a good reputation not an avatar name.

having a good reputation for being godly seems more realistic than a title name but I could be wrong because Abraham and Sarah both changed theirs so I dunno

Try this one. https://avatarmaker.com/
I've forgotten where exactly I made this one but I tried to make it look like me.
Although it shows I'm wearing a scarf in winter and it doesn't snow in Auckland so I'm not sure why that is..!

Too late! 😇

Your names are already engrained as who you are - Lanolin and Via dolarossa and your walk with Christ.

When I first created my account, I was having some trouble (My elderly headspace rather than a problem with this site:confused:). In my confusion, I started with the name Target Hunter which was my screen name for a firearms site, since I shoot steel and paper targets, rather than deer or other game species.

I thought that it may be interpreted to mean I was looking for arguments:oops:. At first I tried just creating a new ID, but your software is too smart for that. I finally prevailed on the system admin here to help me change my screen name. Thanks to go to them!(y)

Siloam is the spring and pool water in the Bible for curing which is a good name. 👍

Siloam is a cool name. I never knew it was even a biblical name I thought it was a place in Arkansas because I looked it up😁

Also, my little knight avatar just found me one day when I was looking for a image of someone in armour but who represented a loving attitude. I found this little knight online and it also happened to be called my real name.
I thought that was pretty cool so I took it😊

Actually, there are many things that can be learned from the events in John Ch 9 surrounding the gift of sight to the formerly blind man.

A few of them are
> affliction in life does not indicate retribution for sin of some kind. But God uses such for His purposes, which are not always apparent.
> the (formerly) blind man had to be obedient to Jesus to receive his blessing
> when questioned about this by both his neighbors and the Pharisees, the man was a good witness: he gave a forthright answer describing what the Lord had done for him, but declined from speculating beyond his experience.

As Christs witnesses, we should look for and recognize the great things He does in our lives and be similarly good witnesses sharing His love for us with both those around us (our neighbors) and with the wider world.

When I first started posting in internet forums I chose the name "Wallstar". I pulled that out of the air. It seemed like something I had seen every day.

Then I got curious about just where I had seen it. I started watching for it. I finally found it at work. The urinal in the men's room had a dark green screen with the brand name "Allstar" and the reflection of the overhead light put a white "W" in front of it, making it say "WAllstar". I had named myself after a urinal screen!

Well, now I use several names. If you search "Wallstar" you only get water heater dealers.

The avatar is me at age 2.

I never considered an alternate name, But my current avatar is a colored pencil drawing that I did, representing the narrow path that we walk. It can be tricky to look back. Going forward in faith is the only way to go.
