What will Heaven be like?

I like to think everyone will make it.

And that it’s like one big jolly loving party with an abundance of fine music and tasting food and wine. Everyone will never grow old and there’s always something new to discover. Will we be able to fly and have glowing bodies? I hope it’s kind of like the golden age in mythology.
Will our pets be there??
The only thing that’s bothering me is:
If I die before my granddaughter grows up she will likely stay a child and would that be allowed? Children stay children?. And I couldn’t imagine my parents being young as I never remember them as youthful.

obviously I’ve made all that up and I don’t really know. But my mind likes to imagine good things.

So What happens in heaven as far as we know in the bible?

Isa 64:4
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

1 Cor 2:9-12
9 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

The Bible doesn't really tell us much about heaven.

We can be certain though that gluttony and drunkenness won't be a part of heaven. God tells us to be moderate in all things (Phil 4:5). There will be no more sorrow or death. There will be much reason to be thankful to God.

We know that there will be new heavens and a new earth. A beautiful city, New Jerusalem will be prepared for us with many living places. The tree of life and probably a new larger Garden of Eden will be there.

I wouldn't worry about ages in heaven. Just because *I* die, doesn't mean all the people related to me will stay the same age as when I died. I think they will be the age that God wants them to be.

Also, my parents would probably be the age that God wants them to be too, so it might possibly be they will be 'younger' than me in heaven. Which will be kinda cool. Here's hoping they will believe before they get there though! Otherwise I won't be seeing them...

Well........the truth is that fewer will make it than more.

I know it will be a wonderful experience which we can not even describe. I just hope that Alabama will be the capital and football is still played on Saturday afternoon.

Extrapolating from observatons:

God is an active God.
God is preparing us to serve Him.
We must learn to follow His direction rather than our own.

I do not think we will be on a long vacation. Our desires will be cintered on Him rather than our existance be centered around our desires or our personal reward.

He has something (I don't know what) for us to do.
It will be centered upon the fullness of God and intrinsicly include the Father, Son, and Spirit.

It will be a joyous task.
It will likely make His glory increasingly manifest.

What will Heaven be like?

My vision of Heaven will be a release of all my sins, illnesses, worldly sufferings, everything imagined that's not of God. I don't believe we're going to remember this when we are in Heaven.

But the love for each person in our lives will we be able to take, remember and keep through all eternity in Heaven.

I believe we will still serve God in Heaven in constant praise and worship of Him while rejoicing in our mansions.

With all the gold, silver, chocolate cake and Häagen-Dazs ice cream that we can consume here on earth is nothing compared to what we will receive in Heaven.

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus
Sing his mercy and his grace
In the mansions bright and blessed
He'll prepare for us a place

When we all get to heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We'll sing and shout the victory

Onward to the prize before us
Soon his beauty we'll behold
Soon the pearly gates will open
We shall tread the streets of gold

When we all get to heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We'll sing and shout the victory

When we all see Jesus
We'll sing and shout the victory

I always like what you have to say.

it’s nothing like what I would say, probably because I’m still coming from an stronger earthy point of view and still wrapped up in my own desires. But since I’m beginning to see that God does direct our steps, I can also see that all along, He has been directing me to serve Him. He allows me to keep some of my desires, but has taken the sting out of them when they fade. Might as well say, He changes them to suit Himself( Reminds me of the carrot and stick thing, only, He swaps what you want with something more interesting) I think He’s a master psychologist.

Anyway. a few years ago the last thing I wanted to be was a Christian. But the more I stick to it, the more I am in Awe of how cool our God is.

God doesn't really tell us much about heaven. I believe though it will be a little like this experience you describe as becoming Christian.

Our worldly perspective of heaven, I believe is so much less than what God has planned for us. I think as we grow as Christians we have a little better glimpse of what heaven might be.

We can know that there will be no separation from God. We will know God and be able to speak directly with God. I do also believe that he has wonderful plans for us also to act with the fullness of the Spirit in some creative way.

well then, there’s really no point in speculating what Heaven will be like.

I’ll just keep following God and let Him drive me around town until it’s time for Him to take me away once and for all🥳

My view point of Heaven is that God kept the details of the experience of Heaven a mystery because "His ways are not our ways" and trying to comprehend its beauty would be like silently considering that God has no beginning and no end. It would blow our minds. There are a few glimpses though that tell us that we will be at peace with every animal. As for pets, that is a good question but I don't believe we will miss anything or anyone because we won't remember them if they aren't there. God tells us that He will wipe every tear from our eyes so there will be a momentary experience of sadness but that will be short-lived. Why we will experience that momentary sadness is for someone else to speculate or offer wisdom.

I believe that we will roam freely upon the earth during the Millennium Reign but wings are something belonging to the angels to cover themselves in God's presence and we won't have to do that as even now God has told us to "come boldly before the throne" and the angels by God's own testimony do not have such liberty. Another reason to believe that we don't become angels after we die. Every time I try to imagine Heaven I have to limit my mind to the New Jerusalem because after that we don't have any details. We will be able to go see Jesus within the walls of New Jerusalem anytime we want, we will be kings and priests, we will be a type of law enforcement (if you will), there will still be some sin that will gradually grow worse nearer to the end of the 1,000 years because there will be humans in the flesh that continue over that somehow manage to live through the Great Tribulation but that is permanently done away with after the Great White Throne Judgement and Satan is thrown into outer darkness where not even God will see him anymore.

Even if we imagined it to the umpteenth degree beyond our wildest imagination I still don't believe that would be sufficient to even imagine the Millennium Reign. I believe it safe to say that if you want to know what it's like the best we can do is what my wife and I have done with our kids in the past and tell it in story form as you let your imagination run free as if there were no hurt right now.

Even having typed all of this I still don't feel as though I have really said anything or described it at all. That, in my opinion is the limits we face when describing what Heaven will be like. We just can't do it but I think our spirit wants to give us a glimpse but we can't relay it because our minds are just too feeble.

My view is that He wants it to be a surprise which is why He's not telling us all that much.

Have you ever thrown a surprise party, well you don't tell everyone before hand exactly what activities you've got planned!
I was thinking this too.

God is full of surprises, I reckon.

1 Samuel 3:11 ESV

Then the Lord said to Samuel, “Behold, I am about to do a thing in Israel at which the two ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.

I’m sure they were not expecting tingling ears
