Do not deceive yourselves.
If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age,

he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.
1 Corinthians 3:18

Experience comes from what we have done.
Wisdom comes from what we have done badly.
[Theodore Levitt, Harvard Business School]

Standards of this age have to do with morals . Its what we do not learn about history the unseen spiritual things that causes a fall . At the rise and fall of any empire or body of mankind ( families) its moral issues that cause mankind to reform under the hearing of Christ's faith. . History repeating caught in a loop.

Two kinds of wisdom. The wisdom of this world it provide no faith by which we could please God. And the wisdom of God as it is written that reforms morals .

You have put forth some real...and valuable...wisdom comments in your response today.
And your observations about history, I believe, is correct. Morality is a huge stumbling block for so many.
But God's Word, when we read, study, and adhere to it, is the best "moral compass" anyone could have.

The fool knows that he has something more to learn.

The wise only think they understand what there is to know or at least believe they have a vast understanding of it and don't realize how foolish that thought is.

It is better to appear to be fools in the world and to become wise in Christ.
1 Cor 4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. (KJV)

Hello Garee;

Well said, brother. I was just having this conversation yesterday with a group of brothers in our community. We were distinguishing the two wisdoms of the world and the wisdom of God. Two key verbs raised was "reform by listening," and "listening to reform." Both are beneficial.

I can discern your life experience and the good manner which you present your posts.

God bless you, Garee and your family.
