gifts are for the edifying of the Body of Christ. to many want to worship the gift and not the giver .Christ left the Holy Spirit to help us. not boast

I had a few miracles happen to me on the road to salvation, but they are nothing but distractions these days if you ask me.
I think that "miraculous powers" opens the door to ones imagination and what one person calls a miracle is what another calls normal life happenings.
The word "Miracle" is a word tossed around way to loosely by believers today.....IMHO.
I realize that this does not apply to anyone here, but the fact is that I have lived long enough to see people exaggerate a normal everyday event into something that it was not in order to make themselves appear to be more spiritual to others who know them.
The root of that is of course "Pride".
Even the Apostle John fell victim to this phenomenon as he said several times......"I am the one Jesus loves the most".
Yes your right. Miracles are personal to each believer. And I now wonder, if what “ miracles” I witnessed were not just signs and wonders. Because I just think they are nothing special now.... hmmmIt all comes down to what we personally believe that a "Miracle" is.
That is something which is unique to each persons understanding.
"Me" personally......I consider the act of God saving a black hearted sinner such as me a miracle.
Others say that the parting of the Red Sea is a miracle.
Others say that child birth is a miracle.
Some say the the Virgin birth is a miracle.
Some say the resurrection of Jesus is a miracle.
Some say the resurrection of Lazarus is a miracle.
I once had an elderly woman tell me she had a miracle in her life as Jesus Christ came in the flesh one night and pulled two of her teeth and replaced them with gold teeth.
Did He??? Was it a miracle???? Of course not, but to her at her age and mental health, that is what she believed even though it was her dentist that did the procedure.
It was real to her and that is what mattered to her at that time.
My grandmother, on her death bed, sat up and said......."LOOK! It is a miracle!!! I see God and His angels on a chariot ridding in the sky".
Did she??? IN her mind she saw what her mind wanted her to see to give her comfort and ease her worry. Was it a Miracle???? NO!
It was simply the Holy Spirit giving comfort to a child of God who needed it!
THAT IS THE GRATEST MIRACLE WE CAN HAVEMe" personally......I consider the act of God saving a black hearted sinner such as me a miracle.
I was thinking that too.THAT IS THE GRATEST MIRACLE WE CAN HAVE
me personally i think there are many things we cant explain .there are name it claim it groups . for instance years ago i heard a man on the radio say we could lay hands on a new car claim it in Jesus name it would be ours.. my self my Bible read the just shall live by faith. We walk by faith and not by sight. with out faith its impossible to please god ..sometime i wonder where my faith is. did we have a lack of faith when we prayed about something / someone . i have known a couple people with the virus prayed for them. they not make it we pay for and expecting a miracle...does that make sense ? i ahve know good men of God say we prayed for them there going to be healed . understand i have faith god can heal.. me i like to chose my words i say .Yes your right. Miracles are personal to each believer. And I now wonder, if what “ miracles” I witnessed were not just signs and wonders. Because I just think they are nothing special now.... hmmm
do we really know understand the fullness of Christ . my concern on me as making it be something its not subjects like this i do google search often i can find some really good stuff other times i find junkAnother miracle I have yet to witness, is the fullness of Christ.
I took NT Greek in school, been years, and just now getting back to relearning it again! You are kidding me...right???

My senior Pastor reads daily devotions from his hebrew and greek bibles!
There was a time that did not believe the words of Christ because I had never seen them take place in my life or any others.
Christ tells us these words regarding prayer.
Luke 11:1-13
For years I wondered especially about God's words in Luke 11:9-13.
Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
God specifically tells us to ask, seek and knock. Yet for years I it was not clear that God's word was true. Ten years ago roughly I was put in a position that I much needed God's help. God did answer my prayers in wonderful ways, but not right away though periodically he made it clear what he intended to do.
I believe in God's miraculous power. How God works with each of us is probably different, but I do know that God only does good, God's word is sure and true and that God loves us all of us in spite of our many blemishes.

Your post reminds me of Isaiah 65:24..........
"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."
I have learned that God always hears our prayers, but the answer we get is not always the one we wanted.
The 1st time I applied to pastor a church, the church decided not to call me. I was devastated. I had worked and prepared and gave a great sermon but the church said no. I was really ashamed of myself because of the way I acted toward God for not answering my prayer for that church.
However.......About a month later a 2nd church asked me to come and preach for them and they called me the very same day. They offered my wife and I more money and a home with all expenses paid.
One year later we came to find out that the 1st church was dominated by two families and when they started a feud the church broke up and closed their doors and turned into a café a year later.
You see......God knew all along what was best for me!
Been going back into reading the Greek, and really finding out what you don't practice, you do not keep!Honestly......I hated it! I only took it because it was required. L did about as good in both as I did in Spanish in high school and today I know about 3 words......Taco, burrito and ague.!
I found out very quickly that I just did not have the time was more of a general practitioner than a specialist at my church. Working with languages takes time. and I just did not have time week in and week out to put in the kind of effort required to translate the chosen passage for the Sunday sermons.
I was going from one crisis to another, with a wedding here and a funeral there.
Low and behold, as time went by I realized that I never used it and sure enough I pretty much lost all I knew just like I did Spanish.

I just found it helped me to better use the Hebrew and greek tools such as Lexicons, and to sorta understand the more technical commentaries, ones that footnoted Hebrew and the Greek! Wished would have bough that Net Bible that had the NA 26th in it edition!Hello, YeshuaFan;
It seems after you studied Greek, and today, you still have an interest to refresh your Greek study. I'm impressed!
I have to confess when I took Hebrew and Greek, I didn't enjoy it, it was tough and barely passed as part of the requirement for completing seminary.
I remember some of my classmates went on to study Hebrew II and Greek II.
I rarely use it, but the Hebrew and Greek did aid me with cross references to a passage in the Old or New Testaments when preaching.
