Chaplin in the Military?Via, if you're not over the age for enlistment, I recommend joining the military. I soldiered for 22 years all over the world, and overall, the job was seldom boring; I actually got paid to experience adventure.

No, I was in combat arms. I controlled combat airstrikes in support of infantry and armor engagements. My actual combat experience was during the first Gulf War.Chaplin in the Military?
My son is a Mortar man, and he biggest fear going into marine bootcamp was not passing shooting, as never handled a gun before, but graded out as expert! No, I was in combat arms. If the Marines can't turn a rifle novice into an expert, nobody can! Every Marine, regardless of rank, position, or MOS is first and foremost a rifleman. My son is a Mortar man, and he biggest fear going into marine bootcamp was not passing shooting, as never handled a gun before, but graded out as expert!
I told him to watch out, as one of his group based upon near perfect shooting were picked to become a sniper! If the Marines can't turn a rifle novice into an expert, nobody can! Every Marine, regardless of rank, position, or MOS is first and foremost a rifleman.
I have changed Jobs quite a bit over the last 58 years if being a Christian. 1 Cor 7:20 say to "abide in the calling in which ye were called". In my case, SInce I tend top move according to Ps 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord, and HE WILL bring it to pass. and for the last 58 years He's done exactly that. So, how have you dealt with this?
Hi bob.I have changed Jobs quite a bit over the last 58 years if being a Christian. 1 Cor 7:20 say to "abide in the calling in which ye were called". In my case, SInce I tend top move according to Ps 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord, and HE WILL bring it to pass. and for the last 58 years He's done exactly that.
I'm a high school dropout, that the Lord has moved from an electrical technician - to engineering technician - to Engineer, to Project engineer, to Chief engineer, to Manager of engineering over the years ending jobs, moving to other jobs, relocating from Massachusetts to Wisconsin to Ohio to Michigan and now in Texas. Each Job being better than the last, and every one adding to my knowledge base. The key is to "Let your PEACE be the "umpire" (Col 3:15). Put it in the Holy Spirit's hands and you'll KNOW when it's Time, and what to do.
I recall an interview I had with a company in Texas - It was obvious that they had no idea what they were doing, and it would be a BAD decision to connect with them, BUT when they took me out to dinner that evening, The Holy Spirit said: "Join yourself to this company". I thought to myself THAT'S STUPID!!! These clowns don't have a clue - but the conviction remained, and I moved from Michigan to Texas, and worked there for the next 8 years before starting the job I have now since 2002. ALL the previous stuff prepared me for what I'm doing now. I'm 78 and still going.
As a matter of fact I just got another job offer today that I'm gonna have to pray about -
