Which chapter in the Bible do you find the most interesting?...and why?
Well, keep thinking about it.A fascinating topic. While I have a favorite Book of the Bible, I really don't have a favorite chapter or verse. To many chapters and verses spring to mind.
Which chapter in the Bible do you find the most interesting?...and why?
Bob,Hello crossnote;
There are so many Books in the Bible that I find interesting but the one that stands out is 1 and 2 Samuel and David's Psalms. David was the greatest King in Israel, a Goliath killer, shepherd and poet, but he had so many human problems. He failed as a father, was a murderer, betrayer, liar and adulterer.
Psalm 51:1-19, 1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. 14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. 15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. 16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. 18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure;
build up the walls of Jerusalem; 19 then will you delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
Yet David had a strong held faith and belief in God and His forgiving nature. David was quick to seek God's forgiveness for his sins but He was there for David when he had to accept the consequences of his sin.
I like your question because if we don't have a most interesting chapter in the Bible, that should be a concern.
God bless you, crossnote, and your family.
Revelation 19:11-20.......Which chapter in the Bible do you find the most interesting?...and why?
When I found out my wife's favorite Book of the Bible was Deuteronomy and mine was Romans, I thought, 'uh-oh major conflict ahead. But no, after 35 years, it showed how the OT and NT supplements each.Jeremiah 31:31-34, Deuteronomy 6:4
Those verses. While not chapters, those verses are special...
Nothing else can make me smile like those..
Definitely Hope not deferred.Revelation 19:11-20.......
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And LORD Of Lords."
When I think of all the events in history, all the wars and deaths and sad events....when I consider that I will be riding on a white stallion, right behind the Creator when He comes to put and end to sin, war, death........everything else pails in comparison that He, the Creator, Jesus the Christ in the ages of past history has allowed somebody like me to be a part of the greatest event in all of history boggles my mind.
Talk about the 'parts', remember those Scripture Promise verses that came in a miniature plastic bread loaf?There are golden nuggets to be found everywhere in God's word, but when the puzzle is put together the whole is so much better than any one part.
Talk about the 'parts', remember those Scripture Promise verses that came in a miniature plastic bread loaf?
