Christian Nation?

As covid raises its ugly head our governments are looking to vaccinations for immunization for deliverance.
Instead of gathering together and calling on God our churches are being restricted and policed.
We will reap what we sow. If deliverance is expected from within, deliverance from something that is greater than we are, surely that is a losing battle, when He decides it is enough.

I think immunization is a good thing. Not the ultimate thing, but good against tricky viruses like covid. I'm not scared of a needle.

There is a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. From Ecclesiastes 3:5

Covid doesn't discriminate between christians and non christians, and certainly covid isn't a spiritual disease. Most pandemics (of any kind) happen because of overcrowding, pollution and bad hygiene practises. And there are certainly areas in the world that have way too many people in overcrowded conditions to be sustainable.

Washing your hands with hot soapy water is probably the BEST thing you can do. So why doesn't everyone get baptised instead?

Hello Lanolin
You said covid is not a spiritual disease.
Let me ask you. Where does your life come from? I expect you would say 'from the Lord'. Well if life comes from the Lord then where does the perversion (disease) come from.
Something has to disrupt the life process. If you look at scripture Jesus would cast out the devil - the spirit that was causing the perversion.
All sicknesses are caused by evil influences in the life process.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God evil got a foothold in God's program.

It's a virus, not a spirit. You can see a virus with very strong microscopes. You cannot see a spirit.
There are different viruses. Some attack and some are actually beneficial, just as not all bacteria are bad.
Some viruses are computer viruses, some only are spread through plants.

The common cold is a virus. And there is no cure. So, are you saying all people who get colds are influenced by evil. OK. Whatever!

I would have thought it was because they weren't warm and dry or had adequate ventilation. But you can think what you like.

If I understand right, your argument is that all disease is a result of sin. There can be conditions even at the time of birth, so your argument would say then that the condition was brought on by the sins of others. Which means that the cause of this evil is not necessarily known other than it is a result of sin in the world.

Am I understanding you right 2404 , that your saying that the Covid-19 situation is a result of sin? Also that as a nation rather than turning back to God our healer, creator and sure help for deliverance, the nations as a whole are looking for their own answers?

There are side issues. As Christians, do you suggest that we not consult a doctor, but rather only go to God for healing. Is there a time to seek medical advice as well as going to God? Are vaccines of all kinds, another way that mankind fails to go to God for healing and deliverance?

Please share your thoughts.

Since you mentioned thinking let me ask you an easy one.
Did Adam and Eve ever catch a cold?

I don't know of any written record of the common cold in the Bible or secular records for Adam and Eve. They probably did get sick, but there is no evidence one way or another. Adam we are told lived to be 930 years old (Gen 5:5) that is a long time to live in the flesh and we are told that God reduced the span of life after the flood.

When I was referring to Adam and Eve catching a cold I was referring to their state of being in paradise. A condition of perfection, eternal life.

Then Satan comes along and manages to inject his poison into the life of perfection. Life is then no longer perfect but becomes a struggle because you now have the option of 'good and evil'.
I am for and appreciate doctors and what they can do but still all healing/life comes from God.

Now what does covid do? It is also a life but a parasite, stealing life from the host until the host's life is depleted.

This evil life can infiltrate the human gene and cause corruption, all kinds of physical and mental issues.

You covered a lot of ground and I'm sure I didn't even get closed to closing all the loops but what I want to say is that there is an answer for every question and as Christians we are called to rest in that.

Hello CPerkins
I appreciate your straight forward approach.
Let me paint a little picture.
Consider a realm of perfection. eternal... Then lucifer in that condition has an idea, 'he will have a kingdom greater than that of Michael.
So you step out of perfection and you automatically place yourself in a condition of 'catch-up' because you are not longer in perfection. Lucifer had to reject the Word to accept his own way and that is his poison even today - in this world.
We know that we are our own greatest enemy because in our fallen condition we want our own way. So being a Christian is not being a 'know it all' but accepting the Word - though it may not line up with our sense of reason.
Is not reason the tool that Satan used on Eve? He said surely....
Scripture says to cast down reason when it stands against the Word.

I am rambling on but it is my life so I love it.
God bless
