Are we moving away and off real Gospel to the Social One now?

As even among we Baptists seems to be a big push now to get woked up and Critical race theology, are we now moving into redefining the Gospel message then?
The devil never stops his lies and deception in his efforts to undermine the gospel of Christ, destroy the Church, and steal the souls of people. Today, we're just witnessing another round of that behavior. Christians should neither believe or support the devil's social movements. We're in the world but not of the world.

Hello YeshuaFan;

In my role in the church I serve, God gives me the Word to prayerfully encourage each one to stay focused on being set apart for God.

Over and over and over, it is my role to teach and preach this, to remind each man and woman of God;

Romans 12:2, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - ESV

At the same time we emphasize we are also to co-exist with the world for Jesus, we cannot ignore but be informed of world affairs without compromising the Gospel. As far as the political or opinion agendas in these times, I attempt to keep these out of the focus of studying the Bible or hearing the sermon.

In John 14:6, 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - ESV

Romans 12:14-18, 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. -ESV

These Scriptural messages offend the political and opinion agendas because it says all other beliefs are wrong. But the gospel must be preached to the world, and in our own backyard so others will hear and have the opportunity for a relationship with Christ Jesus.

Of all places, the San Francisco Bay Area - the devil's playground! Yet we remain connected within our Christian community and are encouraged daily. We are constantly reaching out to each other as the early church did in Acts 1. We are aware of the constant struggles in the church and the world. It's been this way before and during Jesus' mission.

The Good News is the Christian church is standing strong and remain focused on reaching out to the unbelievers and prayerfully making disciples.

YeshuaFan, thank you for sharing this serious question and topic.

God bless you and your family.

I was rebuked in a chat for daring to calling out Mormons as being a cult, as they do not like to be called that label anymore! This was a Christian group so called!

YeshuaFan;

Yes, the chat you are referring to leans toward another social hypocritical opinion called COEXIST (the rainbow bumper sticker) to put up with the doctrines of cults and false religions. They may not like that label because the Truth hurts. When Jesus or we are reviled for being a Christian, we don't cry, "we don't like that label."

1 Peter 2:23, 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

The term "cult" isn't a bad word:
  1. a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
  2. an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, especially as manifested by a body of admirers: The physical fitness cult.
  3. the object of such devotion.
  4. a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
So, being called a "cult" isn't a bad thing necessarily, even though in our pluralistic, subjective culture, which routinely takes terms and applies a meaning to them of whatever stripe they so desire, all Christians could fall under the definition of a cult.

Hello MM;

Yes, I'll agree with you that the term cult is not a bad word. When we look at it from the point YeshuaFan was making, he shared that this particular religion is a cult, which it is, but he didn't say to them that this a bad word. Therefore, they should not have pushed back stating they didn't like the label.

Now, Yeshuafan, if you were implying that this particular religion as a cult is a bad word, I can't speak for you, brother.

I will say I have been told that Christians, or all Christians are cultic, many times. Say what you will.

Again, when Jesus or we are reviled for being a Christian cult, we don't cry, "we don't like that label." Instead,

1 Peter 2:23, 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

God bless you, Darrel, and your family.

I am using the term cult as those like a Walter martin did, as a church or a group using the scriptures but teaching another jesus and another Gospel!

Cult in the Christian use of the term is to make out as being anti biblcal and antichrist!

I sense today if you asked 5 Evangelicals today, "What is the Gospel?" You'll most likely get 5 different answers. It is a pity, but a reality in this highly subjective world. And at least three of the answers will start out like,"Well, I feel the Gospel is..."

agreed but are we moving forward or backwards . the early Church started with out nothing but a group of people gathering in one place one accord. in the next few chapters we find great power & great Grace was upon them Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
but they had to do there part

What was their part...?
In any case I try not to paint an idyllic picture of the Early Church, looking at the Corinthian Church, they had plenty of divisions, selfishness, spiritual pride, fornication, lawsuits against each other,drunkenness and gluttony at the Lord's Supper, etc. etc.

No idea, don't really mix in baptist theological circles. For those who actually go to baptist Bible colleges maybe, but only for those that can afford to study theology.

Every couple of years theologists like to come up with something new (or rehash something old) don't they. I am sure everyone is just plain tired of the amount of racism and superiority complex people have about it since from the beginning of when the world started. Oh look your eyes are different colour from our eyes. Oh look your skin is darker, or lighter. Whatever!

the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

Agree!

Of all the early churches, the Corinthian one would not be the one to model after.

The church at Corinth had divided loyalty to different leaders.
There was gross immorality in the Corinthian church, and it was being tolerated.
There was some confusion about whether or not it was better to be married or single.
There was meat sold in the marketplace may have been sacrificed to an idol before being sold.
Could a Christian eat that meat?
And how should a Christian respond to a fellow believer who holds a different opinion?
Paul also addresses the extent of women’s involvement in worship services.
The Corinthians were also confused about the future resurrection.
