He drove his chariot furiously
Was Jehu the first to be recorded with road rage?
‘Jehu picked up his pace.
He drives furiously towards Joram’
Must have been fast and dangerous
See 2 Kings 9 : 19
Jesus showed Righteous
Anger with the money changers,
turning over their tables in the temple
Showing them His wrath
Cain, Moses, Balaam,
To mentioned a few
Along with King Ahab, Haman, Esau,
All lost it when things didn’t going their way.
When things blow up in your face
How do you react?
Are you like a bull dog with a wasp,
Gnashing!
Lashing out at everything
in site?
Or do you go into silent mode?
Looking like your sucking a Lemmon
With a no comment disapproval look set on your face
Prickly as a Opuntia
Not to be approached!
Do You go hide down the garden
Into your man shed?
For timeout
To hide from the fallout?
Or go to the gym and vent your anger
On the poor old punch bag?
Did it help?
In spite of all your good words
And actions
To be remembered for the time your halo slipped,
And have that be the first thing people remembered
When they mentioned your name
Help me send Jesus
To answer the door first,
That, ‘what would Jesus do’
Be my default mode
When people and situations
Press my buttons
And I want to explode!
Sorry you can’t hear
what I’m saying properly
I’m talking through gritted teeth,
Pressure’s rising and feel like exploding
I’ve counted to ten twice!
Do I run away like Jonah,
Hide under a fig tree?
Let rip? Explode!!!
Vent my anger?
it will make me feel better,
But it’s the collateral damage?
Who’s going to repair the damage?
Will things ever be the same again?
Give me the strength to hand it over to Jesus
Before things gets out of hand,
Give me the wisdom to say a word in season…
And leave it at that?
And another thing……
