I often cringe when I hear stuff like this, with people revealing what the Lord allegedly told them of things not already stated in the Bible as an acid test for their statements.

Isn't he just making it up as he is going along????He's treading on dangerous ground.
Not often for me but EVERYTIME I hear it said!I often cringe when I hear stuff like this, with people revealing what the Lord allegedly told them of things not already stated in the Bible as an acid test for their statements.
Some may be grifters while others may be delusional or just want attention but some may be sincere. How can you tell the difference?God spoke to me! God said to me! The Holy Ghost said to me!

The scrolls of ancient Jewish extra biblical books did abound aplenty along with the New Testament writings as well. Some of great enlightenment and where much truth can be found. While others come from a dark seedy and murky side of town where heretics aboundSomething about that speaker makes my stomach knot.
I wonder about all those scrolls that have been discovered over the centuries after the Bible was first published.
How do we know those things aren't showing us God has more to tell us?

The question has to asked is the cannon of scripture complete. Some do believe there is more. Which leads to the problematic question. have we been left without the entirety of Gods word for over a thousand years? What has been classified as holy scripture has varied through Jewish and church councils over the thousands of years . Some questioning the authenticity of Esther all the way up to the book of Revelation and of course the Apocrypha of which the reformation never accepted as the word of God. Martin Luther did even question the book of Revelations as authentic but he later agreed upon deeper study that it was the word of God. It be a complicated history of what has been accepted as holy scripture.
By knowing and understanding the written Word of God!Some may be grifters while others may be delusional or just want attention but some may be sincere. How can you tell the difference?
I tend to agree with you the scriptures flourished from early time in the church all throughout the Roman Empire they pretty well knew what was inspired and what was not it was well validated . Which begs the question did we have to wait until the 19th century for the so called worlds oldest bible the Sinaiticus discovered by Tishendorf to re-educate and put us right with the word of God? As to the dead scrolls we find a lot verifying the accuracy of scripture within its findings down through the ages and a deeper understanding of that historical time. We also find verification of portions of the New Testament books of the bible being discovered in in one of the caves as well. Which would point directly to the New Testament being written in the apostolic era and not after as many liberal biblical scholars claim. But that was rather hushed up.The one modifier, in my mind, that makes all the difference is that God is in control, not man. The councils and such, they all portrayed their own bias and human reasoning. In the end, God is the One who ensures that His words to us remain intact and without corrupt influences that would endanger the salvation of the masses.
Generally speaking, for those of you out there who don't believe in God's control over everything, that's on you. The practiced idea that someone has rustled God's cattle on those thousand hills, you're on your own. I for one rely completely on the fact that the Lord our God is in total control over all that transpires in this world, and has seen through to this very day the accuracy of His written word to us. All those other extraneous writings, most of which contradict the scriptures and each other, I have no use for them.
Why?
Y'all have seen this before, and here it is again:
1 John 2:26-27
26 These [things] have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

If you are referring to the Dead Sea Scrolls, there was NO new revelations from God included in them.Something about that speaker makes my stomach knot.

IMHO...............NONE! ZERO!I wonder how much of the fear of God this individual has speaking presumptuously, "The Spirit of the Lord spoke to my heart right there in that hotel room, He said,"Son.....etc."
I read somewhere a long time ago and if I was better with my computer, I would look it up but it seems of the 500 pages (Leaves) ofMy understanding about the Sinaiticus, and especially the Vaticanus, is that there is spectral imaging evidence of alterations in those documents. That clearly puts them both well into the arena of question, regardless of their age.
But, that's just my take on those manuscripts, which also includes Aleph, B and C.

Did God tell you that? (tongue in cheek)IMHO...............NONE! ZERO!
Allow me to be clear..........That did not happen!
IF it did then God would have done the very same thing to YOU and ME and all 3 of us could sit around and confirm it!
