The heart

I have a good friend, he is smart generous and well liked. We can talk about many things but Christianity is like water off a ducks back. It seems he just can't humble himself. We see that same attribute in Cain and he was very religious, he offered sacrifices to God but he just could not take correction. How many times in scripture does God reprimand the people for their hardness of heart? I've experienced it in my life where I'm wrong in my understanding but by the grace of God He straightens me out. It is not easy but in hindsight I'm thankful. To be able to humble oneself and accept correction is a necessary quality for a Christian. We are in an age like no other with the expectation of His soon coming. The Christian status quo will not do, it hasn't in he past. The calling is to put on the entire Word. Lord help me, grant me grace. Give me a heart like thine. Amen.

Hello 2404;

In our relationship with Christ there were / are those times when we weren't open to correction, couldn't be humbled because of a hardness of heart, bruised ego, pride, jealousy, etc...

But when we strive to grow we will get spirit filled with ears to hear and eyes to see, enabling us to receive reprimands of chastisement, conviction, rebuke or refute. For this we should be grateful for being empowered to "snap out of it", repent, receive discipline and turn back to Christ.

God bless you, brother.
