An inheritance is something promised when someone is alive, but granted when they die. Generally, inheritances pass from a parent to a child, or children.What is our Inheritance?
We know that Christ has redeemed us and is sanctifying us and making us like unto Himself, however, what is our inheritance?
With scriptures, please.
Yes sir. Agreed.Good morning, Marilyn;
You ask another great question.
Our inheritance equates with Solomon's eternity, Paul's prize and John's reward defining God's irrevocable promise after our lifetime of striving to be obedient, repentance for our disobedience, allowing God to guide us where we serve Him, all with challenges (mostly people) in between.
Our inheritance is our eternity with the Father in Heaven, forever and ever.
Ecclesiastes 3:11, 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time; also he has put eternity into man’s mind, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. - RSV
Philippians 3:14, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. - NIV
Revelation 22:12, 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. - KJV
Last Sunday I began and ended the message with this;
I’m going to share something that will be hard to accept; God loves you so much that He will trust you to endure
hardships.
He picks us up, holds us up and builds us up to press on with His Almighty plan. That plan is designed for our final, eternal inheritance.
God bless you, Marilyn and thank you for sharing.

Hi Major,An inheritance is something promised when someone is alive, but granted when they die. Generally, inheritances pass from a parent to a child, or children.
John 1:12-13...........
"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
who were born not of blood nor the will of the flesh of man, but of God".
In John 1:12-13 believers in Jesus Christ are referred to as God's children.
Ephesians 1:11-14 talks about us having "obtained an inheritance" in Christ and being "sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory."
For Christians, it is the promise of an eternal life, and home in heaven that the hope of sharing in community with God forever, that sustains throughout whatever trials are faced during this lifetime.

A Heavenly Inheritance
3;Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 ;to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 ;who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
its a farce sounds good i guess it can make a person feel better. its fake teaching about like praying to mary for intercession along with baptism for the dead.. you either are or your not its a know so salvation .. i m baffled at a lot of fables .. many only know what mom or dad or gma gpa said along with the preacher .. get it for your selfBut I'm still baffled at this teaching of "Purgatory" which is a process of purification before entering the Inheritance. This could take a day, year or a million years according to those who believe this.
Eternal rewards, to be with Trinity forever to praise and worship themWhat is our Inheritance?

Also tied into receiving our promised physically glorified bodiesAn inheritance is something promised when someone is alive, but granted when they die. Generally, inheritances pass from a parent to a child, or children.

Purgatory is a non biblical concept, as the blood of Jesus washed away and covered and atoned for all of our sins, and would be no need for us to atone for them at allHello forgiven;
Thank you for sharing and I agree.
The Bible is very clear from everyone's posts and forgiven's A Heavenly Inheritance.
But I'm still baffled at this teaching of "Purgatory" which is a process of purification before entering the Inheritance. This could take a day, year or a million years according to those who believe this.
This is a contradiction because our sins are already forgiven. Otherwise, Jesus would have gone to the Cross with a contingency of Purgatory. I've been challenged by those who strongly believe in this teaching.

Its a doctrine caused by Rome holding that thru Sacramental gifts of grace to us, we would sanctify ourselves to a degree that God can see us meriting our salvation, and ONLY their saints went to heaven directly, all others got some degree of PurgatoryThe idea of purgatory is that we can do something (receive a punishment) to earn our salvation, as though the blood of Jesus is not sufficient to atone for all of our sins. It is by HIS blood and nothing else that we are given salvation, it is not of ourselves nor anything we can do. The work of Christ on the cross and His resurrection are the only way we inherit life everlasting.
The fact is that we "must" be in our glorified bodies in order to enter Heaven in the presence of a holy God.Also tied into receiving our promised physically glorified bodies
Agreed. I also have debated several Catholic members.Hello forgiven;

Per their system, salvation is really found in Church of Rome, not in the Cross of ChristAgreed. I also have debated several Catholic members.
Purgatory is a Catholic traditional teaching that has NO Bible support in any way whatsoever. However, the fact that the RCC teaches NONE Biblical things to their followers should not come as a surprise to any one.
Purgatory is “a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God’s grace, are not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgressions.”
Source: Catholic Encyclopedia.
But there is more involved in The very idea of purgatory because with that false teaching comes the Catholic doctrines that are attached to it such as prayers for the dead, indulgences, meritorious works on behalf of the dead to name a few and they imply that Jesus’ death was insufficient to pay the penalty for OUR sins.
That is a correct statement by dear brother.Per their system, salvation is really found in Church of Rome, not in the Cross of Christ
