As there still seems to be some spirit discussions out there regarding these 2 main views regarding salvation process?
I'm even more confused NOW.... HA
I'm unfamiliar with these 2 concepts. Could you please elaborate on their nature and characteristics, please? As there still seems to be some spirit discussions out there regarding these 2 main views regarding salvation process?
Discuss this issue with many Christians via online and media, and seem to run into quite often both sides seem to take the extreme viewpoints of the other sideGood morning, YeshuaFan;
Just, curious, brother, what kind of spiritual discussions do you participate in regarding these 2 topics in your community, Bible study teaching or day to day commune with the Lord?
Out here the Christian community in the Bay Area is pretty spread out. I am graced by many discussions of Free Grace whether in Daly City, San Francisco, Oakland, Marin County, San Jose, Silicon Valley. Most hold to the view of salvation through faith alone but there are disciplines and balance that expand the conversation regarding walking in obedience daily with our Lord and Savior.
Lordship Salvation (works vs calling,) debate, opposing views, listening, speaking and being in accord is in the mix of our discussions. Christ teaches us throughout the Gospels, "those who have ears to hear" and 2 Timothy 3:16-17 are two areas that grow us as a disciple and equip us to have those spiritual discussions.
"Process" must have an end result of bringing Him glory.
God bless you, YeshuaFan.

One thing I've learned over time is that when two opposing extreme views are posited, they're both wrong, and the truth lies in the middle between them. God is the creator of balance, not only in the universe, but also in reason. Truth is always found in balance, and balance is the tension between extremes. To live in truth we must be comfortable with experiencing tension.Discuss this issue with many Christians via online and media, and seem to run into quite often both sides seem to take the extreme viewpoints of the other side
Be glad to, as Free Grace Theology teaches that sinners re saved by a confession of faith in Jesus as Savior, and trust in the saved by grace alone thru faith alone, held by those such as Zane Hodge and Charles Ryrie, while Lordship teaches that to have real salvation, must have repentance and changed lifestyle, of good works and behavior reflection having now really been saved, held by Dr MacArthur, RC Sproul.I'm unfamiliar with these 2 concepts. And that many times its the extreme fridge views that are thought of as being the main ideas by the opposing sidesOne thing I've learned over time is that when two opposing extreme views are posited, they're both wrong, and the truth lies in the middle between them. The two sides of the issue are engaging in the fallacy of a false dichotomy. They have taken the truth and selectively torn it in two. Both views are correct and should be joined as one. Scripture is a unified whole. The teachings of Paul and James are not in opposition.Be glad to, as Free Grace Theology teaches that sinners re saved by a confession of faith in Jesus as Savior, and trust in the saved by grace alone thru faith alone, held by those such as Zane Hodge and Charles Ryrie, while Lordship teaches that to have real salvation, must have repentance and changed lifestyle, of good works and behavior reflection having now really been saved, held by Dr MacArthur, RC Sproul.
Extreme Free grace holds that one is saved even if no real change, or no repeating of known sinning, while Lordship theology would hold in extreme position that unless one has made Jesus is Lord over all our life, then He is really Lord over none
My take on this issue is that Jesus is our Lord once saved, and he does ask us to surrender more and more of ourselves to Him, submitting our goals, plans etc, but that we should never base on how ell we are obeying as the sign if really was saved or not
Your view same as mine on this issue, but just think Free Grace came about due to legalisms in churches, while Lordship came about due to really loose living among folks in many churchesThe two sides of the issue are engaging in the fallacy of a false dichotomy. They have taken the truth and selectively torn it in two. Both views are correct and should be joined as one. Scripture is a unified whole. The teachings of Paul and James are not in opposition.

The Lordship Christians though are just trying to make it seen that becoming a Christian is a lot more than a 1 time altar call as a child and having no evidence to support that was a real experienceThis is my very small sample of a source... I had never heard of this guy before.
Faith alone... in Christ alone = FREE GRACE
Acts 16:21
The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas; He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.
Easy Believism is another phrase I heard thrown around.
This second video explains Lordship Salvation in simplified form... and again... I am posting it simply as a REFERENCE of point of study.
Oddly.... I have heard many sermons from John MacArthur and NEVER have I heard him preach on this topic.
I am aware that John MacArthur is a Calvinist. I am not at all a fan of Calvinism.... as even worse than this topic of Lordship vs Free Grace.... is the improper ( out of context ) teaching of pre-destination with regards to some being chosen for heaven... and others chosen for hell.
So..... here is my take on things.... WE all receive outrageous FREE GRACE whether we want to admit it or not.
Those who follow the legalistic teachings of "WORKS based SALVATION" = Lordship Salvation
are prisoners of their own making. They compare themselves to OTHERS... they harshly judge others... and they hide their own sin and iniquities due to making themselves "appear" holy on the outside. They do not confess their sins as commanded by Christ... but rather allow hypocrisy to rise and reign. There is NO FREEDOM in this belief system.... and those trapped in this teaching are ruled by FEAR rather than LOVE.
I am a GRACE gal.... My salvation is SECURE because I never had anything to do with it in the first place.
My life has been PURCHASED by the BLOOD of CHRIST at the time of my conversion and SEALED by the Holy SPIRIT. I can't LOSE that because I did NOT make the costly transaction.... CHRIST DID.
We are ALL recipients of FREE GRACE.... OUTRAGEOUS GRACE. That is a FACT.
People need to start thinking about the HOLINESS of CHRIST... instead of themselves. The posture of our hearts upon meditation of GOD.... should be ABSOLUTE AWE and ADORATION. That will sober a soul up like nothing else.
God is FAITHFUL to finish that which He has begun.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. ~Philippians 1:6
My only living family ( extended ) are believers in this Lordship "works-based" belief system. They have lived their entire lives in misery... not to mention hypocrisy. There is no joy... only lots of DRAMA. It seems they are content to serve out of FEAR.The Lordship Christians though are just trying to make it seen that becoming a Christian is a lot more than a 1 time altar call as a child and having no evidence to support that was a real experience
It seems to me that the Lordship bunch live under the sword of Damocles while the Free Grace bunch live in a more relaxed manner. My only living family ( extended ) are believers in this Lordship "works-based" belief system. They have lived their entire lives in misery... not to mention hypocrisy. There is no joy... only lots of DRAMA. It seems they are content to serve out of FEAR.
The people who believe in Lordship teaching do NOT understand SALVATION.... or the DEPTH of PROPITIATION.
I don't know how on earth ANYONE can THINK they are going to FACE a HOLY and PERFECT God with the Statement that they were GOOD.
It makes me tremble to think of this.
I do not understand what an Arminian is... unless it's the fancy word for a legalist. It seems to me that the Lordship bunch live as Arminians while the Free Grace bunch live as Calvinists.
