HALLOWEEN!

All Saints’ Day, in the Christian church, a day commemorating all the saints of the church, both known and unknown, who have attained heaven. It is celebrated on November 1 in the Western churches and on the first Sunday after Pentecost in the Eastern churches. In Roman Catholicism, the feast is usually a holy day of obligation. It is part of the three-day triduum dedicated to remembering the dead, beginning with Halloween (October 31) and followed by All Saints’ Day (November 1) and All Souls’ Day
(November 2).

Looks like Halloween (Oct 31) may have had R.C. origins.

I went to Winner's yesterday with my niece and I was shocked to see how much Halloween merchandise they were selling... BASCIALLY... everything in the kitchen wares department was some kind of ghost or pumpkin.

We have a second hand store here called Value Village... and they go over the top with costumes and accessories.

What I am noticing is how the retail stores are starting earlier and earlier to put stuff out.
We have several stores here in central Fl. that open in around June solely with halloween items. Close in Nov. and do it all over again the next year.

Een the giant home store "Lowes" is selling huge halloween decoration like skeletons for $500.00.

IT does.

All Saints Day! All Hallow’s Eve – that is, the Vigil of All Saints’ Day, when Catholics remember those who have gone on.

The modern focus on the eerie or mysterious also has a Catholic aspect. But even these, in the Catholic tradition, are supposed to be reminders of death and of the last things.

Now, people can come up with all kinds of excuses as to why they or their church is participating in the halloween day event.

However, when children are purposfully or unintentionally honoring pagan traditions or dabbling in something darker by participating in trick-or-treating or dressing up in Gothic costumes, they are in fact entering into he dark world of Satanic delusion and deception!?

No, as we see it as bring Jesus into the culture and shine Him out during the worldly dark celebration on that date
Do you and your church believe 1 Peter 5:8.....
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

2 Corth 11:14.......
"And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light."

Isaiah 8:19-20...........
"When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn."

2 Corinthians 6:14-15

“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?”

Ephesians 5:11

“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”

Deuteronomy 18:10-12

“There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.”

We see it as exposing the darkness of that day to the light of Christ
