The mind of Christ.

The mind of Christ, what happens when we are given the mind of Christ.

God's word tells us what to expect when we receive His Holy Spirit, but really nothing about when one receives the mind of Christ.

I don't mean to enter into the secret part of our life in Christ, but is there any experiences that anyone would like to share?

Is there any scripture that would point to an experience one can see as a reflection in their own walk with Christ?

One realizes one exists only within Christ, that we are not independent agents but function only with God's permission. We see clearly how we have failed Christ, in the same manner as the faithless servant, and have stolen what is rightfully our master's. Our only choice is to flee in terror or drop down on our knees and beg forgiveness.

In daily life I've come to view people, especially strangers, differently. I find myself loving even unlovable people just because they are people whom God loves. That is a real help in traffic.

I grew up driving the 405 in so cal , i can relate to that.

But Gods word tells us when His spirit enters into a person that it's like a dynamite explosion going off. I understand that explosion to be the uncontainable desire to give, similar to Pentecost. We would also feel His presence for what i call a honeymoon period.

But when the mind of Christ starts to take hold, i understand we will feel something, maybe even physical?

thanks

`And do not be conformed to this world (system) but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.` (Rom. 12: 2)

For example: In conversations with others, I try to `step back` a little and not just speak off the top of my head, as it were. This then gives time for me to process is that `good, helpful, or gossip, etc` Over time and by the washing of the Word of God daily and the promptings of the Holy Spirit I get to know what is `that good and acceptable and perfect will of God` for that situation.

We receive that mind of Christ when saved, but must keep feeding it the scriptures

Did you feel anything at first, during, or over the years specific to that happening, and separate from the evidence of the Holy Spirit being imputed.

Good morning, faither;

What did I feel at first? In my testimony I was saved in 1966 when I was 9. We were stationed at Rhein Main Air Force Base in Germany. At first when my late Mom told me I was forgiven of my sins, I did feel sort of a pure, emotional lift when she said that. But I was just a boy. When we got home from Church I forgot about it, changed clothes, went outside and played marbles.

For the next 8 years I pretty much remained that way, no change in spirit or mind, but only knowing I was a born again Christian. It was during our late 20s when I met my wife and got married, I took her to Disneyland for our honeymoon and had a great time. Immediately following that she got pregnant we would go into a "free fall" with devastating life problems.

This is where God got my attention. A pastor old enough to be my grandfather mentored me during those times along with my Dad and real grandfather. It was then that I entered into a "relationship" with Jesus. The Holy Spirit and mind began to work together.

The Holy Spirit worked within me and the mind of Christ developed through the early days of studying the Bible, learning to grasp the application of being equipped and my relationships with others. I can vaguely remember those moments of the Holy Spirit and the mind of Christ, but I knew they worked together.

Many of us know the Spirit and mind of Christ is a process, not instantaneous, and both work in all areas of our Christian lives. Part of the discipleship (discipline) is to accept and receive it within myself.

Does this help a little, faither?

God bless you.

Bob

Only thing noticed right off the bat was went to sleep as a sinner, received Jesus as my savor and Lord while in the bed, and woke up next morning trying to jan on my led zepplin and the music sounded "bad" to me now
