Hello brothers and sisters;

In the book of Mark 6:3, Jesus was a carpenter.

Verse 3a, 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us?” - RSV

In Acts 18:3, Paul was a tentmaker.

Verse 3, 3 and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them, and they worked, for by trade they were tentmakers. - RSV

What kind of work did you do? Did you enjoy your work? Do you feel it tied in with your faith and witness? Did you regard your work as ministry?

I work in corporate IT. I write custom accounting software for the television and movie industry. I enjoy my work but as I grow older the industry continues to change and it can be a real challenge to keep up.

Bondservants and Masters

5 Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, 6 not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. 9 Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
