A "Tare" is a weed.

The parable Jesus gave was about weeds in the wheat. If we apply that to today we would consider the religeouse lost man sitting in the pew in front of you.

You assume he is saved because he is sitting in church in front of you. We always will have people who infiltrate our ranks, the Ananiases and Sapphiras and the Judas Iscariots would be examples.

When asked about pulling the "tares" from the wheat, Jesus said NO. I will take care of them at the harvest.

But it is not our job to pull weeds today. Our job is to plant seeds of the gospel. We don't see a person's heart. Our concern should not be who the hypocrites are but whether we are hypocrites ourselves. Our job is to take care of ourselves, to take heed and make sure that we are true believers.

I tend to agree with you.

Have found that the "tares" wind up exposing themselves.
One can only pretend piousness so long without their rot being self-exposed in their fruits.

The sad part is however some of these tares act as diverseness and can mislead others even to the point of dividing a congregation into factions. Personally have witnessed this occurrence twice in two different congregations.

Our Pastor Dan made a point of this today what our only "job" (mission / duty) is as followers of I AM should be until He comes is to testify to THE TRUTH that is ONLY found in the person of Jesus Christ - IESOUS CHRISTOS ALONE.

I post what may seem to be articles or links that help us to refine and think.

Hello Major and Mabel;

When Jesus said no to pulling the tares from the wheat meaning He will sort it out at the time of harvest, reference Matthew 13:24-30. One of the core teachings on this is God's amazing patience, reserving judgment for the final harvest.

Jesus also had the Great Commission in mind as our first mission starting with constant preparedness, equipping and discipline and timely when introducing others to Christ.

I have to agree with Major, "But it is not our job to pull weeds today. Our job is to plant seeds of the gospel." (Great Commission)

Quote Pastor John Piper, "there are three possibilities with the Great Commission; You can go, you can send. Or you can be disobedient."

We should encourage one another to focus on the priority so we're not sidelined with distractions.

Hypocrisy was mentioned and is a battle within ourselves. I have to self-check daily. There are lessons for us;

Living a Godly life
Worshiping Godly wholly
Praying consistently
Having an intimate relationship with God
Holding on to our Christian values and beliefs
A Spiritual set - the Gospel doesn't change
God's unconditional love doesn't change
God will not change

The Great Commission also prepares, equips and disciplines us in refuting the "tares" (false teachers) from spreading deceit, which He also instructs us by protecting the flock.

As in why do those who commit atrocities especially against children go seemingly unpunished???

We humans cry out and wonder 💭.

However we are not our Maker and cannot press Him.

In due time JUSTICE will come.

The example of Job 23-42 certainly applies.

GOD has His reasons and His Plan and Timing and not ours.

Dear Mabel;

The sermon WHY? followed by the verb of the message is vital and one that we all should think about. We are highly accountable in the raising of our children.

I'm curious. What application for today's times did Pastor Dan offer as encouragement to the disciple?

Woe to the unpunished for their day will not go unnoticed by our Great Judge.
