Will we have our own kingdom?

Will we have our own kingdom?

I was reading in the book of Luke and came upon a verse which I could not understand. It is in Luke 22:29 "And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, v30 that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

I think Jesus is talking to the desciples, but it troubles me because it is a verse the Mormons use to uphold their belief that God was once a man as we are and we will have our own planet to rule others.

And why will they judge the 12 tribes of Israel?

Hi I don't get the connection... Christ said the Kingdom is within us...

About judging the twelve tribes of Israel, that may have been for those Apostles only... Someone else here will know... Whenever I question something I do a word search on BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 50 versions and 35 languages. reading every where that word is used will give a balanced approach in understanding a particular text... Then a Greek or Hebrew dictionary is very useful as well...

Kingdom of the Cults by Walter Martin will explain the erroneous teachings of LDS... Any religions foundation started by an angel is warned against in

Galatians 1:8
Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.

There is but one Kingdom and that the Kingdom of Gof and Christ has certainly bestowed that upon us at the new birth. We will have position and some authority in God's Kingdom as His servants. On earth His Kingdom is this:
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Jesus always was God so He did not have to become God:

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus walked this erth as a man so He could pay man's sin debt. As Gid refers ro Him in this next scriture as the most high God I do not see how He can get promoted:

Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

So if He always was, is and will be God there is no way the Mormom theory can be valid.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

I believe it is the same kingdom but we get to taste it within us as we start to obey the Word and reap the rewards of peace, joy, knowledge and truth within us that grants us that taste of what God has prepared for us.

Praise God! He Loves us so much to give us Jesus to show us the path :)

WOOOOOT! Our God is awesome and mighty and perfect and Holy and Loving and forgiving and wise

PRAISE HIM, HE IS WORTHY:israel:

When you understand Kingdom to be His presence within us when we receive the New Birth, it makes a lot more sense. LDS is understanding it as a physical kingdom.

And thanks, Beloved, I will look at that sight and copy what it says about the word "kingdom" so I can show it to Joy, who had the question in the first place.

That is a good word - that "we get to taste it within us." We don't have to wait to get that kingdom, we are experienceing it now and will experience it more as we walk more in His Light. Wonderful word!
