1 John 4:19

We are born in sin and shaped in iniquity, as an island surrounded by the sea cut off from God.
We cannot love before we are shown love. The breeze may blow over our island the rain may fall and we enjoy the pleasantries thereof. We have our needs being met and we respond accordingly.
We love our families and those that are good to us but the bonds of our straitjacket remain.
As God reaches down to our island and picks us up and moves us beyond our limitations a new world opens up to us. We are touched by something greater than ourselves. Our vision is no longer limited to the gaze over the endless sea. We are united with the hearts that are travelers with the wind/Spirit. We yearn for the earth bound to join us in the heavenlies and we can now extend our empathy to all those who are earthbound still.
We love him, because he first loved us.
