11/16/19 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Keith “Walking in the Spirit”

11/16/19 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Keith “Walking in the Spirit” Galatians 5:16-25

Our scripture for today gives practical advice on how to live as Christians. Walking in the Spirit is to walk in the Truth, walk in Faith and walk in Newness of Life. We must be believers in what we say and how we live our lives. Walking in the Spirit determines how we live our life, how we pray and how we treat other people.

We may be surrounded by Bibles in our homes but we must know how to get with God ourselves and not be dependent on the church or other people. We must be able to tap into the power of God on our own and not be dependent on others. Walking in the Spirit means growing up and maturing in Jesus and in the ways of the Lord. We should be the type of person that wherever the Lord leads us, we will go. We should not be unmovable and stuck.

We must pursue the Lord, rejoice and pray without ceasing. Hold tight on what is good, read the Word and serve the Lord. We have to go somewhere new once we start to walk in the Spirit. Our flesh, the enemy, likes things as they are now and likes us to be carnal/sinful. Our flesh doesn’t like it when we try to walk and be like Jesus. Our Flesh doesn’t like it when we keep in touch with God. We need to put away childish things and stop being selfish.

Walking in the Spirit means to Praise God whether we are walking high on a mountain or low in the valley. A righteous man may fall seven times but he rises each time in FAITH! This is walking in the Spirit. We should want to run with Jesus! We should want to be led by God! We should want to keep on walking! If we live in the Spirit then let us also walk in the Spirit. We should call on the Lord to provide for our needs and ask Him to help us love one another in our community.

AMEN

Hello Miz KJV;

Thank you for sharing the Word.

Scripture gives us practical guidance for our lives directly and dependently to God.

Isaiah 41:13, 13 For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

Scripture also gives us practical guidance in and of the church and other people. We depend on God to guide us in our prayer requests by Him sending others in the church, the church being His people, to help us love and provide our needs by sending others and when the Lord sends others to us. All of this is orchestrated by God.

Proverbs 22:9, 9 Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

Philippians 2:4, 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

God bless you and your family.
