The World System is the sphere dominated by prevalence of sin. It has
Methods – of procedures.
Ministrations – service, ecclesiastical function
Customs – habits, established practice
Fashion – external appearance
Laws – a rule prescribed by authority
These have been established by man over the centuries and vary in different cultures.
This whole System of things which is divorced from God, and which offers
Position – place and rank
Possessions – ownership, land and estates or goods.
Power -ability to act with authority
The World System gives these to those who will serve its interests.
Jesus declined every overture made to Him and stated emphatically,
`I have overcome the World (System). ` (John 16: 33)
Jesus did not tremble at the threat of Herod but sent him a message of the plan He had determined to fulfill in the two ensuring years.
`…some Pharisees came, saying to Him (Jesus), “Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” And He (Jesus) said to them, “Go and tell that fox, “Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.”` (Luke 13: 31 & 32)
With the strongest insistence, Jesus constantly affirmed His divine authority, but with equal persistence refused all offered positions in the community.
We can live in a society and become used to the way it operates, even being comfortable in it, however it is of man and is separated from God.
