A Direct line to God

I reckon this to be one of the loveliest Poems ever posted on my Forum.

Hello God, I called tonight, to talk a little while.
I need a friend who'll listen to, my sadness and my trial.
You see, I can't quite make it through a day just on my own,
I need your love to guide me, so I'll never feel alone.
I want to ask you please to keep, my family safe and sound
Come and fill their lives with hope, for whatever
fate they're bound.
Give me faith, dear God, to face, each hour throughout the day
And not to worry over things, I can't change any way.
I thank you God, for being home, and answering my call
For giving me such good advice, when I stumble and I fall.
Your number, God, is the only one that answers every time
I never get that busy tone, though I never pay a dime.
So thank you, God for listening to, my trouble and my sorrow
Good night, God…. I love You too….I'll call again tomorrow!

PS 'I see me down as new member' but I've been around.
Maybe its due the the updating of the site since I last posted

Well, your latest post made you a regular member again. I'm not sure how the new software works. Many members became "new members" until they had posted a few times after the changeover. One forum of which I am a member reduces your post count as it purges old posts and threads. I've been there over three years and have posted several hundred times, but my post count is around 45 (haven't checked in a while) which may make me a "new member" again. I don't think our new software does that here, but I don't know for sure. Anyway I knew you weren't new.

Nice poem, BTW. In my minds "ear" I could hear the music in the background as the vocalist from some country gospel group recited the words. Kind of like the video of Wink Martindale reciting a poem about a deck of cards in another thread.

Rumely,
I thank you most sincerely for 'Pack of Cards'
It fits the profile of my own humble forum to an absolute 'T' and I've posted it there straight from Utube.
It will bless a whole lot of people I assure you.

Personal POV is direct line does not exist.. One may for exampe marvrel at nature but still not find hom. One might knoe he is out there and still not find him. I have not managed yry I believe he is there and for real.

As for man... While God values us:

Sometime when you're feeling important;
Sometime when your ego 's in bloom;
Sometime when you take it for granted,
You're the best qualified in the room:
Sometime when you feel that your going,
Would leave an unfillable hole,
Just follow these simple instructions,
And see how they humble your soul.
Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it up to the wrist,
Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
Is a measure of how much you'll be missed.
You can splash all you wish when you enter,
You may stir up the water galore,
But stop, and you'll find that in no time,
It looks quite the same as before.
The moral of this quaint example,
Is to do just the best that you can,
Be proud of yourself but remember,
There's no indispensable man.

The beauty of poetry is that so much can be said without stirring up confrontation.
I must try to compose one along such lines.
In the meantime I'll borrow that one if I may.
